Buggers
In a perfect world the rubber wouldn't get hard and start to break. Lost one that way. Installing was okay if you exercise patience and follow the instructions. After using these for a couple years, I may now need to replace them. Meh. |

A no brainer !
I didn't insntall these myself, so I can't review that process, however, the trunk fits tight , no more rattle, no more paint wear problems..It's a little harder to open & close, but that's ok. At seven bucks, this is a must.. |

Nice so far
Installed them instructed. I used a little spit to get them in worked great. I suggest you do the rear bumpers (rear of trunk) first they are alot harder to do. Pull slowly like it says, they may slip, if they do move that one to the front. I say this because if the needle nose slip they take a little chunk off. the bumpers inserted at the front of the trunk are very esay to insert. Cant wait to ride storms here in N.E. get out there tomorrow.. it is tight but thats ok by me |

Good Idea
They work as described. But I've cut 3/32 off and might cut another 1/32 because i still have to slam my lid to close. |

Baby Bumpers
With my corners rubbing I discussed with Honda ( no fix ) or warranty on a new ride. A fellow rider installed these 2 years ago and wall-la chafing stopped. I installed mine only on the rearward side since its the only wear point. I used a silicone base lub for orings and they went in easy. I did have to shave some of the top off to make it easier to shut the lid. I have an even gap all the way around my lid now. |

Long term review
I had R3B's install 7 years ago by the owner of Pakit Rak while at a GWRRA Rally in Bakersfield on my then brand new 2005 GL1800. Lat year after 6 years of use I managed to break two of the R3B's off so I picked up some new ones at Wingstuff and replaced all 4 R3B's. I had replaced one earlier with the Extra one Pakit Rak provides with the originals, what a PAIN to install, not easy to get into the hole! Anyways, they have changed the design of the R3B's. They are very easy to install now that they added a bit of a tail to them that can be grabbed with pliers and easily pulled through the mounting holes! 7 years and 52,000 miles on my Wing with ZERO trunk chaffing or any other problems that may be related to the R3B's! Simple inexpensive solution that works! |

First impressions are OK
Installed and requires drilling your top box. Measure twice, cut once. I like the idea that one spare piece is supplied - wish more suppliers did that |

install was fairly easy
The bumpers near the hinges require a little more effort to install but it wasn't terrible. Will keep an eye on it and update if I have any negative results. |

Update after long trip
I've just returned from a 5,000 KM trip and I had to take these out due to damage that I believe it caused. I only noticed this when I washed the bike the first time after my return. The paint on both corners closest to the rear (near to the brake lights) is completely rubbed off on both the lid and base due to chafing, about 2 cm long and 3 mm wide. It looks like the bumpers pulled the lid towards the front of the bike (towards the hinges). My bike is almost brand new (only 14,000 KM) and I don't believe it would have had the same extensive damage from chafing if I hadn't fitted these bumpers. Before I installed them, the only minor chafing noticeable was on the small bumps in the plastic around the lid opening and the sides. I cannot find any other explanation for this damage. The lid is mounted solid, i.e. I cannot detect any damage to the hinges, catch or any other part that may suggest why it was able to rub that much or how it was even possible for the lid to get so close to the base with the bumpers fitted. I’m no engineer but logically, with the bumpers installed, it puts upward pressure on the lid when it is latched. Since the trunk catch cannot be adjusted, with the upward pressure, it will have a tendency to bend inwards around the edges. It only takes 1 mm of misalignment for the lid to rub against the base around the corners. I’m downgrading my rating to 1 star as I’m now left with 4 holes in my trunk on top of the paint damage. Not Happy! It would be interesting to know if anybody else had similar symptoms or if it could be because I shaved them like many others. |

Harder to install than what I was expecting. Had trouble with the ones towards the trunk hinge. Once installed, they do make the trunk more difficult to close but when closed, the whole trunk assembly seems more solid. |

put these on a year or so back. Was not to hard to install just had to take you time in the lay out. They did make it hard to close the lid for a while but have worked out fine. |
