Great lights, I have them on my GW and they really add incredible visibility, am trying to stick with L.E.D. lighting with all my light add-ons, they are a premium OEM product, installation of the lights went pretty smooth. I recommends the chrome cowl and timing cover with the fog light, they really makes the front end stand out and gives you that finish, complete, look to the bikes front end, also like mentioned, let the oncoming traffic know that you are there. Worth the investment. |
This is a fine instrument that looks like it belongs on the bike. Unfortunately, if you own a 2006-2008 Gold wing, there is NO POWER plug anywhere near the right fairing pocket. I improvised. I ran an 18 gauge wire pair from the accessory terminal on the fuse box, across the top of the gas tank, and up the right hand frame spar under the fairing shelter into the right pocket area. I electrical taped the entire length, and tiewrapped the excess. My run was approximately 6 foot long Maybe about 5 foot 8 inches or so. It was the perfect length and left you about a foot extra so you can remove the volt meter panel without undoing the wiring. The meter works great and is back lighted. My bike runs about 13.8 - 14.2 volts. It's nice to see what kind of load goes on when the cooling fans kick on or you are running the fog lights. A very useful gauge to keep an eye on your charging system. I got stranded on the side of the road on my 1500 when the alternator brushes stuck. I didn't have a clue what was happening until the bike died and there I was. It's much better to be safe, then sorry. I highly recommend getting one of these meters. |
I purchased the VIP Membership after reading their sales pitch while checking out an order on the wingstuff web site. It read save $##.## on this order and 10% on almost everything in the store. Turns out my savings were more like 5%. I e-mailed and called prior to the order being charged and shipped and requested that the VIP Membership be canceled. They did not even have the courtesy to answer my e-mail or make any attempt to satisfy a customer when I called. |
I guess the chrome fetish is a carry-over from my Electra-Glide days... and this accessory does a wonderful job of feeding my need! |
I too was concerned about how long the adhesive would hold the lights in place, but seven months in, a couple of thousand miles in heat and cold (and rain)... they are still in place and going strong! |
Guess I got lucky on this one... it fits like it was custom-made for my rear fender... nice finishing touch! |
Put one of these on each side... that plus the pouch on the back of the backrest, and my wife can put all the stuff she needs on a ride in them... Great accessories and very easy to install. |
A definite must have for me... use the modulator during the day... at night, when meeting other vehicles, over to low-beam and leave this switch on all the time... that way there is plenty of light and plenty of visibility to on-coming drivers. |
I trimmed the inside edges of the self-stick tape with an exacto knife before installation... figured I would avoid the problem of it depressing buttons I didn't want depressed... Nice finish to the area... I kept the black knobs so they would be easier to see... |
I like the looks of it... easy install... |
I had to add a washer to get the pole to line up. The staff screw does not want to stay tight. I had to add a piece of vacuum hose on to the antenna shaft so it would not make it ticking noise from hitting the antenna and now a year and a half later the chrome is peeling off. Yes, the flag does have a problem wrapping arond the antenna but usally will correct itself. The one good thing about it is that it does not get in the way when you want to use your luggage rack like the rack mount one due. |
Excellent looks but for me, took more patience than I anticipated. This is an excellent value. |
