Well I am about 330 and had both the front and rear springs changed. After talking to Progressives support team they advised me to add about 3/8 of an inch to my spacers. That was 380 miles ago and I would do it all over again. Improved my ride and because I am a little heavier rider the plush factor has increase 10 fold. I also had the stem bearings changed but decided not to use a brace. Thumbs up on the springs. |

2006 GL1800 I had the springs installed at Wingstuff in Aug of 09 and only replaced the stock springs because the Kuryakyn fork brace I also had installed at wing stuff was hitting my factory brakeline mounting bracket. After much research and debate kuryakyn has redesigned their fork brace to leave clearance on top of the fender for the brakeline bracket (still insufficient clearance). They also agreed to replace my forkbrace with the new model which i exchanged for a Superbrace which mounts close enough to the front fender to clear Hondas factory brakeline bracket. After all of this was installed by recommendation of Rick WingStuffs owner I was riding across smooth open highway approaching 100 mph when my front wheel began to bounce violently. I returned to Wingstuff later brought the issue to the attention of Rick the owner and was referred to Don the service manager. Who determined the forksprings are to stiff to allow the recoil necessary. This is the second time I have bought supposedly bolt on equipment and have had severe adverse mechanical results. had o them installed on my 2005 gla along with new tires, bearings, and front fork brace, also had dyna beads and nitrogen installed in my tires what a big help rides smoother and no more shimmy either on acceleration or down speeding, highly recommend doing it all at the same time, so more chrome will have to wait a bit |

Just put these in my '06 Wing at about 38,000 miles while I was having the seals and bushing replaced. So far so good. Nice having the front end back up where it started and the quick steering response back. Yes, at first the ride is a bit firm but that breaks in shortly. I have used Progreesive spring on my BMW's of the past ('75 R90/6 and a '95 R100RT) and have loved them on those as well. I personally put over 65,000 on the ones I put in the '75 R90 and they were still holding up like new. FYI: I am a 6'2" 225lb rider and I do not ride aggressivly. Most of my riding is solo and this is the only front end work I've done to date (besides tires). |

I installed these along with the Allballs steering bearings, new bushings and seals in the forks because the left one was leaking, and of course changing the fork oil. The ride is much "firmer" now, which means I feel every bump in the road. I modified the anti-dive control as mentioned on another website, and the bike does not dive at all when I brake. With the new bearings and the new springs, even with tires with some miles on them, the wobble is all but gone. Big difference on that. 4 stars because you need to be prepared for a "rougher" ride. |

Second review, I wish to add a bit of information to my first review of the Progressive Fork Springs. I found if you cut the preload spacers that come with the OEM springs, lighter or smaller riders can enjoy the benefits of the Progressive spring. I trimmed 1 inch off the preload spacers and the springs work fine. The bike doesn't dive when braking, the ride is a bit firmer but you still have a nice comfortable ride with a frontend that will work well when are cornering or if you just a dip or bump in the road as we have plenty of those here in the midwest. If you want a firmer ride just cut less of the preload spacer. To give you a starting point I am 5'8" 175, you can make your adjustments from there. Good Luck, have a safe ride! |

Handling is greatly improved, the ride is not. If you are a smaller rider, myself I am about 175 lbs. The ride is rough, I removed them and put the stock springs back in. I am still looking for a comfortable way to help a weak front suspension. I ride a 2004 Wing and it's a great bike, but the front suspension needs a little help, these springs are not it, unless you are a larger person maybe or want a touring canyon racer! |
