This hitch work like they say. I have had it on for almost 4 yrs and have used it to haul a bag on a rack that I had bought and went to the west coast and back and the next trip pulled a trailer to the west coast and back. No problem either time. If you know what to take apart ahead of time The install should take less tha an HR. Both ways worked great. I will take some time to fasten the arm to the crash bars cause it is a tight fit. The reason for a 4 star is the place where safty chains fasten is on the reciver not the hitch. If the pin would happen to fall out there goes every thing. Trailer passin you is not a good thing. Would I buy another one?? YES |

This was a easy install and is mostly hidden. The left side arm was tricky to install. I used a grinder to flatten out an open end wrench and I was be to tighten all the bolts with the bag in place. Great product. |

I appreciated reading the reviews. It helped me in my own installation this past weekend. Before I started, I went to the local hardware store and bought bolts to replace the 1/4” flange bolts as was recommended. The ones shipped with the hitch don’t seem to be either SAE or metric. It also took me about two hours, but after the installation, I realized that I could have done it much quicker, since I gained insight during the installation. I did have to use a large pair of channel locks to get the upper clamps on, gently forcing them into place. It is a very tight fit, but there was enough flex in the saddle bags to allow the clamp to be forced onto the upper frame bar without loosening the saddle bags. It is also easier if you do not loosely bolt on the forward bracket as directed in Step 2. It is much easier to mount the subframe plate and then loosely bolt on the two trunion bars. Then you can adjust the Heim joint in the trunion bar and attach it to the forward bracket. I was then able to rotate the front bracket into place on top of the crash bar. You can then see where you need to trim the saddle bag. Remove the forward bracket and trim the saddle bag. Place the nut on the long bolt (through the Heim joint and front bracket and then place the forward bracket into position. Finish by tightening all of the bolts. I haven’t towed anything with it yet, but it seems really solid. My first use will be with the Rivco rack and bag. Good luck! |

I installed the hitch on my 2005 Wing in 2 hours, more or less, along with a trailer wiring kit. Installation was very straightforward and uncomplicated - good, strong hitch. I did not have any problems with the passenger floorboards or the saddle bag clearance. |

I installed this on my Wing in about 90 minutes. As stated in many reviews, I too love Kuryakyn's quality on everything that I've bought, but but have found their installation instructions to be somewhere between lousy and useless in most cases. This one is no different. Luckily this hitch is a very straight-forward install. A little common sense, patience, and a few extra tools to hit the right angles are all that's needed to git-r-done. I must admit I haven't towed with it because I haven't gotten a trailer yet, but I do have a hitch rack mounted on it right now. It's very sturdy and secure. Works great for the rack, and I'm sure it will for towing when the time comes. Very pleased. |

If you have trailer, you need this part. If you drive trailer in Europe you can't use this hitch, because Kuryakyn is producing it without a technical documentation !!! Without technical documentation of the hitch you won't be able to get European licence for it. So, don't buy it for Europe or drive on your own risk. Because it is useless in Europe I gave it one star. |

Good hitch. Solid and easy install, took about 2 hours (but I'm slow). As others have mentioned, the final bolt in the assembly interferes with the edge of the saddle bag. It's in an area nobody sees, so a few seconds with a Dremel and a grinding bit was all I needed to make it work. Also mentioned above is the unknown box to the rear of the wheel on my 2010. I had to loosen the saddlebags for clearance to get the upper clamps in place. Very simple - removed only the top rearward bolt inside the saddlebag and it gave me just enough room. I almost gave it three stars. My unit came loosely assembled (nice to see how it goes together) but the large bolt that joins the trunnion to the front clamp was cross-threaded in the assembly. Some dunderhead *knew* this was gonna be a problem but packed the darned thing up anyway. No big deal for me as I had the tools to fix it. Some other poor schmuck might not have been as lucky. These three items are the reason for the 4 stars. There should be an addendum or revised instructions for these. |

works great i installed it myself not as hard as i thought it did take a couple hours but really no problems. only reason i give it four stars you would think kuryakyn would at least put standard bolts in it how hard would that be. also i thought mudflap was to costly so i made my own. it looks great i may add |

I am very pleased with this hitch. I had it installed at the shop so I cannot speak to the installation. It is attractive when the receiver is installed; invisible when not installed. It is solid and exactly what I wanted. It required no alterations to the bike. Highly recommend. |

Just finished installing. If you are installing on a 2008 GW then you will probably need to file (I used a Dremmel tool) the bottom trim from your saddle bag just large enough to get the nut on the inside bolt. The only thing you need to remove from the bike is the back cover that holds the license plate. The install took about 2 hours including research time before the work began. Looks great and is very sturdy. |
