I compared other similar products and found this one to be the best value. I can tell you, for the price, the belly pan is a bargain. It paid for itself several weeks after I installed it. We were on a ride in Iowa with a large group and riding a lot of back roads. Iowa has a lot of gravel shoulders that can be hazardous, not only because gravel gets on the roadway, but you don't have much room for error. Well, as we were going there were many times gravel was kicked up and actually hit our faring, but the scare came when several large chunks were driven over because they were unavoidable. I felt them hit the bottom of the bike and when we stopped, I looked and found several good scrapes along the pan. Some others weren't so lucky with one rider having some real underside damage. The pan proved invaluable and I would highly recommend this product, the sooner installed, the better. |
When I went to install the unit it broke. I put very little pressure on this as it just slides over the brake pedal. Wingstuff sent me another one. On the replacement I installed the two set screws but one of the screw holes is defective. The screw just keeps turning. Does not tighten. The other screw tightens fine. I will not be returning this one. Hoping it stays on. I would keep away from this product. |
The belly pan is fine. This part should be installed with metric hardware. I really am surprised it uses 5/16 allen and 1/2 hex. This means I need to carry two additional tools, or a better idea is to replace hardware at my expense of time and money. I log 15-20k milkes annually, and a tool kit is part of my touring. |
As others have written, these deflectors look and work good. But I ran into the same problem with the upper bolt hole alignment but only on the right side. Even opening up the hole slightly with a file didn't help. The screw started but was going in with some resistance. When the screw seemed to tighten, it turned out the metal nut plate came off where it was attached so now the nut plate turns with the screw in either direction. Fortunately the screw is tight enough to secure the deflector. Luckily, there is an opening between the deflector body and the fairing so a thin screwdriver can be inserted in the space and can stop the nut plate from spinning. This allows the screw to be removed. The other problem is that the instructions identify the deflectors in reverse. Left is really the right and right is really the left. Took a few minutes to figure that out. These are the reasons for only 4 stars. |
Great product. Protects the lower cowl and front engine housing from grime and road hazards. Money well spent for a little peace of mind. |
No more dropping the cap & chasing it around. Super simple design that is super nice |
Super easy to hook up. And works fantastic |
This is the tire that I purchase for my Goldwing DCT and I love them. I've had no problems with these and they ride smooth and grip the road with confidence. Reasonable tire wear which is on par with any other tire I've used. |
I like the fit on the goldstrike rack well enough. It does not hang over the light, and somewhat fits around the passenger back rest. I attached a photo. Took it on a 150 test ride, and it was great. Taking it on a much longer trip in the summer. |
I like that they seem to fit tighter than originals. This is because they have a gasket-like edge tightly fitting the muffler cover - so tight that I used a little WD40 to work it on. Once mounted, these pretty to look at additions are not going anywhere. |
They look nice, but did not come with installation instructions that unfortunately caused extra work to remove them. In order to secure them as were the OEM, I need to drill a hole for mounting the hairpin clip. |
Perfect fit and great for day and overnight trips. Folds nicely into storage pocket that is built into the cover and takes very little room in trunk or saddlebags. Great quality, fast shipping... highly recommend. |
