I have just order a set of these rear air shocks to replace my now very tired 240,000+kms stock shocks on my 16 year old GL1500 Goldwing. After reading a the all the reviews by the members here it seem to me this was the way to go as I am not a light person by any standards nor is my other half so I hope these shocks will help to improve our ride so much more in the coming years as we also love touring with my bike trailer full of camping gear....

Fantastic idea, and as we aussies love our CB's to communicate with each other it would be nice, I brought my GL1800 Luxury and it has the control box on the left handle bar but nothing else. My question is how do I get a radio that is a UHF to fit my wing. I believe your sets over in the states is a am set?. Any assistance would be great. |
I along with 3 other buddies of mine here in Australia have put these on our bikes, Goldwing 1800 Luxury, the difference we found was nothing short of amazing, so much more smoother, straighter road ride, brilliant, tire wear is so much better so far, I will wait to see how long my tires last to tell the outcome. But good purchase.
with installing this filter and the KIng Snake slip- on mufflers my mpg has increased by 3.5 and the bike responds faster. I have a 2008 Goldwing
Easy to mount. Looks and functions great!
Installed these the first day I got my 08 wing. Seem sturdy enough and its nice to be able to adjust my leg position on long trips. They are comfortable. I only gave them three stars because of poor chrome. They started to pit soon after I installed them and now the chrome is a complete mess. A friend of mine has a set on his 07 wing and they look as bad as mine.....but I wouldn't be without them.
Over priced for old technology is my ONLY reason for submitting a four star rather than a five star rating. WingStuff did however offer the largest discount/markdown on this product that I was able to locate online. The installation went well and the CB has has been flawless in it's performance thus far. Not a "must have" however, certainly a nice to have item.
this is a high qualty windsheild that fit great, but with the sheild all the way up itshook alot. I adjusted the hold downs and now have a great windsheild that is very clear and no distorions.the extra height on those cold mornings is also a large plus.
just finished installing the Rivco arm rests. It took exactly 25 minutes! At first I was worried with what seemed to be short and inadequate instructions (1 piece of paper), but it turned out that this install was so simple and easy that it was all you need. I especially liked the one piece rubber grommet/ expansion nuts that are used to hold the arms on the trunk box. A lot easier than trying to hold an arm rest, a bolt, washers, and nut then two wrenches to tighten them down with when you are doing the install by yourself like I did. All you need is to finger tighten and then snug them up with the supplied allen wrench. BE SURE THAT YOU LINE UP THE LOCATIONS FOR THE 4 HOLES YOU HAVE TO DRILL CORRECTLY! It is simple to do, just look at the color picture and follow the instructions and it is a piece of cake. It actually took me longer to put on the cup holder I bought for it (couldn't find a chromed bolt that looked good enough). The most important part of all this, my wife loves them and loves the way they were adjustable for height and swing UP and completely out of the way for getting on and off.
I have put over 250K on Dunlop tires but was a bit unhappy with them on my 1800 Goldwing. The traction seemed very poor especially on wet roads. After trying the Metzeler I am going back to the Dunlop. The Metzeler began cupping after 3-4K, then started howling due to the cupping. It got worse as the tires wore, noise so bad I could not even listen to the radio. I never experienced that type of road noise from my tires, but I do not plan to use these again. They seem fine on my Suzuki Boulevard.
Are tires discounted with VIP membership? I am ready to buy 2 sets of these tires and am new to WingStuff . . .
JUST GOT BACK FROM A 5000 MILE TRIP,RIDING 2 UP W/TRAILER AND THE SMOOTHEST RIDE EVER ON OUR 2010 GL1800. HAD ANOTHER SET ON A 2003 WING WHICH ALSO WAS SOOO SMOOTH, I WOULD RECOMMEND THESE TO ANYONE WHO WANTS CONTROL OF THEIR BIKE. THIS PRODUCT PERFORMS WAY BEYOND WHAT IT IS ADVERTISED TO DO.
