About:

Started in 1981 in the military with a used Kawasaki KZ400. Loved the 65 mpg but was insufficient w/ 2 up. In 1982 bought a new Kawasaki KZ550 LTD and rode it til about 1988. In 1990 bought a used 1984 Honda Magna with vetter fairing w/ lowers and a trunk. Big improvement better performance. Been on a hiatus for the past 15 years. I am pleased with the new 2010 GL1800. Just fantastic!

I to have some frustrations shared by other users. Although the functionality is great I found the install instructions insufficient. Also had to purchase more anti-seize compound to finish install. Irritating! I notice rust on the right side main bolt suggesting thin chrome plating. Almost rate this at 3 stars but functionality pushes it to a 4 star rating overall.

I had to remove the front cowl to fit also on my GL1800. Front piece doesn't seem to be formed correctly. Bends need to be moved forward? However at the conclusion of my recent 6200 mile trip and seeing the tar, adhesive and filth on the bottom of this pan which is not on the cycle. The dings in the stainless opened my eyes! 5 stars for the protection! Despite fit I highly recommend for all! I will purchase again if needed.

Installed this in a shoei multitech. Once I visualized my plan installation went smooth. I was unwilling to cut and remove any styrene from the ear area per instructions. The velcro mounting disks combined with the thin speakers fit and mounted just fine without modification into ear area of the helmet. The bass response seems sufficient (for me anyway) even though I didn't follow the instruction: "An airtight seal is necessary to preserve bass response..." I have not tested the mic yet but experience so far has been positive. I would buy another.
