| I had one of these on my 91 gl1500a hit a deer with it and totaled it out. I put one on my 98 gl1500se. Coming back from sturgis a bolt came off a truck hit the windshield very deep scratch oin the windshield but I was totally suprised it didnt come right through it, Very tough product and I clean it with plexus and a diaper cloth allways looked fantastic and I plan on putting one on my 1800 now. Great Product. |
| Purchased This product at a Rally from Verhulst Bike Tires. I was honestly skeptical of this product at first considering I have always used "lead weights". But the guys from Chrome world were the ones that were selling it and Verhulst was endorsing it and I trust that guys opinion about tires. |
| In my opinion this is a must have. I've had mine for over 2 yrs. Installed it myself. Wouldn't want to ride without it. Back rest and risers is a must have for a person of my stature. |

| Forgot to mention in my review below that when we were touring Route 66 in August this year (with a tour group on a rental Goldwing), I've noticed that all the bikes in the rental shop in Chicago were hooked up to these chargers. When asked, the guy said they've had no problems with any of them and are quit happy with their performance. So I guess that is testimony in itself. |

It has been about 18 months since I bought mine (see my previous review and warning to international customers). I had it almost permanently connected to my bike via the convenient fly-lead tucked under the side cover for easy access. It worked great and did exactly as advertised. Hover, it ran VERY hot - so hot I could not touch it, which is why I didn't have it switched on all the time, which really defeats the object of having this in the first place. This may be due to the fact that unlike most modern electronic gadgets with built-in support for 110V to 240V, this charger is not really built for international markets - only runs on 110V and I had it plugged into a 240V to 110V step-down transformer. In fear of a meltdown and possible fire hazard, I have since retired this charger and bought a different charger from a local retailer that is built for use with 240V and it works pergectly. |

Its been over a year since I bought mine (see my previous review for full details). Like Thom, I had it for a while before I needed it. Coming home from a camping adventure my camper trailer picked up a puncture that required inflating it every 30-35 miles. Boy, was I glad I had this compressor! It worked without any issue and my only frustration was like I mentioned in my previous review - no gage to give you a rough indication of how it's progressing before you make the final test with a proper gage. So it took a little longer that what it should, having to take it off and putting it on several times before it was properly inflated. I have used this for other purposes too, like inflating our bicycle wheels and even the car wheel once, and it never overheated or experienced any problem. Like I said in my previous review - it is a great compressor and better to have one and not need it than to need one and not have it and it is well worth the price. |

I bought this hitch about a year ago and at the time I was concerned about its durability, specifically the twisting force caused by the long tongue (see my previous review). I'm happy to report that after towing both a small trailer of about 260 pounds for +/- 800 miles and a camper trailer of about 480 pounds for +/- 1,600 miles, the hitch is still holding and there are no visible signs of any damage or bending. Arguably I haven't done enough towing to make a realistic assessment but in my view, if there were any serious flaws it would've revealed itself by now. Like I said in in my other reviews, this is a great hitch and in my view the best out there and I still put my money on this hitch. But, the jury is still out about its long term durability. |
| I have been running this unit about six months and 12k miles. Here's what I experienced. It worked flawlessly for the first month and then I started seeing delays in the display unit syncing up with the senders. Sometimes it could take half an hour or never. I changed the batteries (which are supposed to last for a year) with no resolution. I then noticed some moisture on the air pressure side of the tire sensors. I blew it out with my mouth several times and that solved the problem. Later I got a can of compressed air you use to clean computer parts, this works great. Every now and then like when adding air to the tire, I blow it out and that keeps it dry. Thereby, if you use liquid tire sealant, forget this type of TPM system. I've seen in other posts that guys have had a problem with rain getting into the display unit. I've been using the silicone sock that comes with it and have had no problems thus far even though it gets rained on regularly. And most importantly, one day I had the front wheel valve stem let loose. I lost all the air in the front tire in about 15 seconds at 50mph. The unit started beeping and flashing immediately just as I was beginning to notice the steering feeling different. I didn't have to guess what was going on. The unit did it's job with no delays and I was able to make a safe stop. Being able to glance down and see the real time pressures in your tires is great reassurance. Touring across Arizona and Utah deserts this past summer I watched tire pressures increase by as much as 12psi from cold measurements at the beginning of the ride. I knew pressures increase but now I know how much. Conclusion: This is the single best accessory I ever purchased for my bike. It is true that the unit is not perfect and I wish the display unit was hard wired. That is why I didn't give it a 5. I rarely give 5's to anything. If and when this unit finally dies or gets stolen, I would get another. |
