BEST GL1800 TIRES
Just put a new set on my 07 wing.I get around 13-14 thousand kilometers on the rear tire.Got 28000 kms out of the front tire, that,s the first tire change for the front tire.I find these tire are a very smooth ride and don,t cup .Last rear tire i had was a dunlop elite because the dealer didn,t have a bridgestone, big mistake. After 5-6000 kms it was very loud and it started cupping,after12000 kms i took it off although it was good for another 3-4000 kms.For me i,m sticking with 704 and709 bridgestones. |

WHY??
Didn't Honda put these on the wings sooner? Had the Dunflops on my 2001 VTX, 2006 & 2009 Wing & had nothing but problems with cupping. 2001 & 2006 were so bad at 5k that I swapped out both frt & rear's with plenty of remaining tread depth. Just didn't feel safe on them. 2009 got 9K & should have replaced sooner, no support from Dunlop, heck I've gotten 15K out of Metz's, so sorry boys, 3 strikes and your out. Just installed the Stones & while to early to say with absolute certainity, I'm already liking them. Smoother ride, and better grip in the twisties. Longevity yet to be determined, but from all research I've done appears most are very pleased with performance and tread life. Can't put a 5 on them until I've run them to the wear bars so time will tell. Got several long trips scheduled this summer, so by end of the driving season should have a good feel for durability & performance. |

Very Happy
Running these tires is a safe choice. They perform very good. This review for the combo set for money savings. If you need just one my review would be very good for tire Quality. Have run Dunlops,Avon's,Bridgestones,Unlike some riders 8000 to 10000(rear) |

The Best!
I previously ran the Dunlop 240s, Elite 3s, & Metzler 880s on my wing. The Dunlops cupped with 36-38lbs in the front, as did the Metzler. The Dunlops lasted 11,000 mi to wear markers, the Metzler rear blew out at 4,000 mi, the Metzler front was in the wear markers at 8800mi. Switched to the Stones, got 15,000 front and rear. Handling was equal to Metzlers, better than Dunlops. Didn't try the Avons due to poor wear reports from other owners. Stones are my choice now, and are now the OEM tire for the 2012 wings. I run 38 in the front, and 41 rear...no cupping, smoothest ride of all and lowest price. After 2 sets, no flats or blowouts. |

Bridge Stones
I use to use ONLY these on my old bike, Honda Shadow VT750. Now that bike is gone and in its place I have a NEW GL1800 Gold Wing. As of yet I have not had Bridge Stones on it....YET! I am waiting for the tires on it right now to wear out, which should be soon enough as I have few serious trips planed that will cover near 12,000 Km in about a month of riding. As for the Bridge Stones I loved them on my old Shadow and when my wing needs a set of tires I will give them a try on it. Right now I have the Metz 880's on it, and these to are very good and I am most happy with them as well. |
