Waiting to see these in person
I saw these on Wingstuff as soon as they came out. I like what I see and love they way they move up and down instead of in and out. Before I can spend almost $300 for arm rest I have got to see a bike with them on it. I would Also like to see someone's on installation photos and documentation of the "issues" they had while installing them. I have read that some guts made some extra support brackets to strengthen up the connection with the plastic truck. Anything you guys can share will help a ton. In the mean time I will keep searching for a bike that has these arm rest installed. I gave these one star because without owning them I can't give them anything higher. Plus I hope people that have these see a one star rating and read my post to see what the issue is about and get them to let me know about their issues before I buy them Thanks |

Great arm rests!
I have come to realize Rivco only makes great stuff. The fitment is a bugger at times but you have to take your time. Just make sure that the passenger realizes that the are only arm RESTS and will not support your body weight. The arm rests will but unfortunately the Honda trunk will not. I especially like the fact that the trunk can be opened with the arm rests up or down. I always get great compliments from people when they see them. |

Less enthused than others
I seem to be in the minority about ease of installation. The angle of the L-shaped mounting bracket did not match the angle of the backrest and side-pocket. It made it harder to align to mark for the holes. This was on a 2002 Goldwing. I remeasured multiple times then drilled the 1/2" holes. I also had a problem getting the passenger backrest back on. There is a gap at the top, and the supplied foam tube wasn't great at filling it. Also, I couldn't get the passenger backrest pulled down enough to completely get the stock two lower threaded mounts aligned in the center of the holes which lead into the trunk area. The docs say there is a 15lb limit to the armrests--meaning the passenger shoul not lean on them to adjust their seating position. Lastly, there is a lot of side to side motion after mounting. YMMV. |

2 Thumbs up
To address my wifes concerns for security and piece of mind we looked into getting some armrests. The swingout ones we looked at were a no-go, wanted a up-n-down ones. These look great, address her concerns and are comfortable. She could fall asleep on back with no fears if she wanted to. Installation took about 45 mins and was easy. Had to pull down on the headrest to get the rear screws to line up with the nutplates on the back of the headrest was the only thing had to do. Very solid design, not a cheap setup. Had to wait about 2 1/2 weeks to get it, but well worth it. Arms move up and out of the way when no passenger onboard, and can open trunk with arms down. |

Brilliant
It took less that 45 minutes to install and to make any height and or width adjustment for my primary passenger/ soul-mate! We tried out the new armrests this past weekend upon some open road including some sweeping curvy roads. At the end of the riding day, I was informed that the new armrests are, "niceeee"! Note, 'niceeee' is GOOD! Well got to go and pay some bills. Until next time fellow wingers/ riders... Best Regards & Go Easy! -B.E.G. /FAB-1 Group, Int'l |

The BEST
I really don't know what else to say, they were extremly easy to install (about 1 hour), they look GREAT, they are completely out of the way when folded up and allow for the full opening of trunk lid. OH! did I mention my wife LOVES them, says it's the best addition to our wing yet. |

Easy to install, wife loves them, finish looks great. Butler cupholder mounts easily. the description for me is a little misleading as I do have to pull them up a little when opening the trucklid all the way to keep them from hitting the grab rails. Believe me, it stil isn't a problem! |

just finished installing the Rivco arm rests. It took exactly 25 minutes! At first I was worried with what seemed to be short and inadequate instructions (1 piece of paper), but it turned out that this install was so simple and easy that it was all you need. I especially liked the one piece rubber grommet/ expansion nuts that are used to hold the arms on the trunk box. A lot easier than trying to hold an arm rest, a bolt, washers, and nut then two wrenches to tighten them down with when you are doing the install by yourself like I did. All you need is to finger tighten and then snug them up with the supplied allen wrench. BE SURE THAT YOU LINE UP THE LOCATIONS FOR THE 4 HOLES YOU HAVE TO DRILL CORRECTLY! It is simple to do, just look at the color picture and follow the instructions and it is a piece of cake. It actually took me longer to put on the cup holder I bought for it (couldn't find a chromed bolt that looked good enough). The most important part of all this, my wife loves them and loves the way they were adjustable for height and swing UP and completely out of the way for getting on and off. |

I had the armrest on for about 2 months, no problems. My wife hasn't rode much with them yet, but so far she like them. Going on a 900 mile ride in Sept. that well tell the full story |

Only three stars because, one, the wife hasn't tested them yet and, two, the expansion bushings didn't provide a solid enough mount for my liking. Half inch holes were already drilled and arm rests mounted so I inserted bushings, cut them flush on inside of speaker housing and trunk lid, added a small 2 in. square plate with a 1/4" hole in middle to inside of speaker and 1 1/4' finder washers to bake of trunk. Secured mounts with ss lock nuts. Very little side-to-side flex of speaker housing. No movement of mount up and down. |
