Not worth the money. First they shipped wrong windshield. I agree, not the last windshield for my wing. Vent is a cheap piece of #$*(). |

When i first received my F4+4 with vent, i was annoyed to see that the vent was loose. Really loose. How can something like that pass quality control??? So i played with the vent & took out both washers. Problem solved. In all fairness, F4's customer service is excellent. Once i fitted the shield, i understood why so many people love their F4. It helps eliminate the annoying buffeting for my S/O, reduced buffeting for me, looks fantastic and so far shows no signs of scratching or pitting. I have yet to ride in the rain or sandstorm - but i have noticed a fair amount of flex in strong winds. A good product, but i have a feeling that it will not be my last windshield for the wing... |

This is my 3rd review on this product. But it is the 1st since I installed the replacement sent to me in 12/07. 10 months and only 9,000 miles later, I have to give a very luke warm review. 1st, this DOES scratch. I have used only a soft CLEAN cloth (one I only use on the windscreen), Invisible Glass (pump spray recommended) and Plexis. I have a few scratches and scuffed areas. As many as my original windscreen that had 40,000 miles on it. Okay. I can live with a few. 2nd, I have a hundred minuscule pits, and I don't ride thru sandstorms, or on dusty roads. As many as my old windscreen. NOT visible in overhead sun, but when riding into the sun, it looks like a thousand pin points. Very irritating after only 10 months. In the sun, it smears and I have to use water or spit on it to get it clear. Probably where the scratches came from... The material is impossible to wipe clean if you use a polymer polish or wax such as `Liquid Glass' (made for show cars) which made my stock windshield absolutely clean and frictionless. Thus, I use the `Invisible Glass (available at Wal-Mart) suggested buy F-4. I had the same `loose vent' issue as others, but took the washers out, and put them on the outside. No offense, but it fit when shipped. It's not as if there is a mod for the bike. I gave it 2 stars because I do like the tiny bit of extra thickness. It lessens the wind buffeting. I very much wanted this product to be as good all I thought it would be. But for the price, I would recommend buying two regular windscreens. Maybe the next generation of scratch-resistant will fair better. I am sure with technology, Frank will produce one. I do give Frank kudos for replacing my 1st windscreen for the blue/red mottling I saw from the front in overhead light that that I thought was a flaw (it is normal). |

Received my windshield 4 weeks after ordering...It was the wrong one. Waited an additional 2 weeks for the right one. No velcro no plastic strips. My windshield is a +4 with vent. The vent did not fit properly and the knurled nuts that are molded into the plastic were cracked. The vent finally broke out completely. There are a multitude of cracks in the windshield around the vent opening. The silver lining in this is I spoke to F4 about the problem and they are sending a new windshield. If nothing else, they do stand behind their product. |

Since installing the w/s my wife likes not having the buffeting from the wind. Easy to clean and I am impressed with it. I bought the +4 w/vent. The black strip is starting to peel and have talked to F4 about that but have not received a replacement strip yet. When I received the w/s I had a problem with a loose vent. Had to remove two washers; one from each side but still came loose. Called F4 and they recommended to remove them. I removed from one side only and the vent has stayed tight since. It would be nice to have some shade at the bottom of w/s. F4 has been really good to work with. The reason for 4 stars is the strip only. Would have preferred to rate it at 4 1/2 stars for strip and 5 stars for w/s and customer support. |

Just installed this on my 06. Caught in the rain at highway speeds twice and it rolled right off. No fogging and the +2 w/s at full height kept my wife and I fairly dry except fot the arms. Doesn't seem to perform as well at speeds under 40mph. Does make a nice pocket to set in as the air rolls over you. I could see the rain drops reacting to the w/s about 8 to 10 inches in front of the bike. Stable at higher speeds, I've had the bike up 95mph with this and notice very little twisting. Will see how it hold up over time. |

In England, the F4+4 is great when it's a nice dry day (remember those?) as it reduces windnoise for both myself and the missus tremendously just as wanted. But you need to ride at speeds above 50mph and more for the rain to 'bead away' as the manufacturers claim - difficult on English backroads in the wet and almost impossible in rain/dark conditions where view through the screen becomes impaired. I'm sure the original material works perfectly on aircraft where they travel at much greater speeds! At 6'2" myself, I can't see over the top (didn't expect to) and have to really slow down in the wet. Makes riding in the rain really unpleasant and tiring, constantly peering and squinting through the wet screen and sometimes around it! It's marked with a couple of stonechips (expected) but has scratched (reason unknown and not expected) in a coupla places too although lightly - don't know how F4 can claim it can be lightly rubbed with steel wool! I have considered a wiper blade but don't believe the scratch proof quality is up to the job for such an idea. Fit was simple enough, but really needs to have the lower portion painted black as with the o/e screen. I've fitted a dashboard carpet with the Wing logo to make up for the lack of that effect and that works well to take your eyes off the clear bottom portion where the velcro cushion strip fits quite well, but which is not aesthetically pleasing due to the lack of black shading on the lower portion of the screen. I'll be keeping it on for the remainder of the 2008 summer (???) but really am having to choose my days - I am not just a fair weather rider and this is annoying me. I plan to tour Europe next year, but likely not with this on the bike. Can't imagine having to negotiate the Alps and Pyrenees twisties with this on when it's raining! Great when it's a fine dry day, but crap when it's raining. Maybe the F4+2 would have been better for me because of it's adjustablity up and down, a facility I knew was lacking with my +4, but o/e +2 screens are available in the UK much cheaper than the F4 range. Guess that's where I'm headed! |

Great! I'm 6'5" and now I am actually looking through a windshield. Have it up as high as it goes and is just as advertised. Very easy to install also. |

This is my 2nd review on this item. The 1st was on on 6-18-08. This comes w/o the shade at the bottom like the original w/s and this is where I give this product a failing grade. I followed the instructions as per the sheet sent and had no problems installing the w/s. After riding approximately 850 miles plus being exposed the the hot summer heat and sun, the black strips glue got soft and has moved down below the area in which it was supposed to stay. I now have to remove the w/s and paint the inside bottom of the w/s black to cover this area. At least the black will be permanent and will hide this mess. Wingstuff management needs to call F4 about this problem and request that a bottom shade like the original w/s be put on all the 1800 Goldwing w/s. |

I installed the 4" taller windwhield on my 2007 Wing, and couldn't be happier. I'm 6'2", and this windwhield is perfect for eliminating wind buffeting. Whether hot or cold riding, the taller windshield improves endurance for long rides. The optical clarity is excellent, and it resists abbrassion as advertised. I've wiped a lot of bugs and road grit of this windshield, and it still look new. Windex and a terry cloth towel is all I use to clean it. it's worth the money. Oh, by the way, the support from the F4 Customs OEM is excellent. |

An update to my previous review. My wife and I just got back from a 6000+ trip out west. The windshield worked out great. I kept a travel type pouch of Windex wipes and used them every morning to clean the windshield. perfectly clean. It's great to be able to clean it without the worries of scratching it. I did notice a couple of nicks though. In all fairness no coating is going to avoid nicks caused by pebbles hitting the shield. Other than them the shield looks like new. |

The coating on the windshield is great. Cleans easily and no scratches. It does have a rainbow appearance on the front when viewed from the front, however it looks fine when looking thorugh it. THe vent fit and works great with no noise. The velcro padding strip supplied for the back of the dash began sliding up the first day. Had to replace with camper tape after much work removing the adhesive from the supplied pad. I would recommend not using this pad. |
