If you have trailer, you need this part. If you drive trailer in Europe you can't use this hitch, because Kuryakyn is producing it without a technical documentation !!! Without technical documentation of the hitch you won't be able to get European licence for it. So, don't buy it for Europe or drive on your own risk. Because it is useless in Europe I gave it one star. |

Good hitch. Solid and easy install, took about 2 hours (but I'm slow). As others have mentioned, the final bolt in the assembly interferes with the edge of the saddle bag. It's in an area nobody sees, so a few seconds with a Dremel and a grinding bit was all I needed to make it work. Also mentioned above is the unknown box to the rear of the wheel on my 2010. I had to loosen the saddlebags for clearance to get the upper clamps in place. Very simple - removed only the top rearward bolt inside the saddlebag and it gave me just enough room. I almost gave it three stars. My unit came loosely assembled (nice to see how it goes together) but the large bolt that joins the trunnion to the front clamp was cross-threaded in the assembly. Some dunderhead *knew* this was gonna be a problem but packed the darned thing up anyway. No big deal for me as I had the tools to fix it. Some other poor schmuck might not have been as lucky. These three items are the reason for the 4 stars. There should be an addendum or revised instructions for these. |

works great i installed it myself not as hard as i thought it did take a couple hours but really no problems. only reason i give it four stars you would think kuryakyn would at least put standard bolts in it how hard would that be. also i thought mudflap was to costly so i made my own. it looks great i may add |

I am very pleased with this hitch. I had it installed at the shop so I cannot speak to the installation. It is attractive when the receiver is installed; invisible when not installed. It is solid and exactly what I wanted. It required no alterations to the bike. Highly recommend. |

Just finished installing. If you are installing on a 2008 GW then you will probably need to file (I used a Dremmel tool) the bottom trim from your saddle bag just large enough to get the nut on the inside bolt. The only thing you need to remove from the bike is the back cover that holds the license plate. The install took about 2 hours including research time before the work began. Looks great and is very sturdy. |

After reading some reviews i decided to buy this hitch. It is a real good hitch.I installed it in about two hrs, also put on a rear mud flap at the same time#ku7251.When your not planing on pulling a trailer for a while you can take of your reciver and ball and you wouldn,t know you have a hitch.GREAT PRODUCT |

Already placed a good review on the installation. Here's one on the use. I just returned from a 3300 mile trip. Hit some pretty big bumps, RR Tracks and pot holes, it didn't budge a hair. The trailer and cargo was about 400Lbs with tongue wt about 30-35. I certaily recommend this hitch and hope it helps in your decision. |

This is a good hitch. I have a 2003 wing. The only problem I had was getting the 4 bolts aligned on the hitch reciever bracket. Used blocks of wood to spread where needed and a C-clamp to squeeze together where needed. Doesn't hurt to have a 2nd pair of hands either. I didn't like the Instructions either. I didn't remove the mufflers. I didn't need to. I did have to take the 2 bolts out of the bottom of the saddlebags though. It took me 2 hrs but, some time was looking for my tools lol. Would be able to do quicker now that I've done it once. Rich |

The trick is tightening the top side nylon lock nuts on the top of the crashbar brackets. They don't tell you how to do that. The clearances are non-existant. I went onto GL1800riders.com and posted a question and the response was to loosen the saddlebags and swing them away enough for you to get a wrench on the upper bolts. Haven't tried that yet so I don't know if it will work. Other than that, It is a well made hitch with one exception. Kuryakyn had you reuse the cheap, flimzy lower support bracket. They actually attach the lower clamps on the receiver plate to this lightweight hollow aluminum brace. I can't imagine why they didn't just run the receiver plate out to the two attachment points on the saddlebag support tubes and have you remove the brace It would have been a lot stronger in my opinion. |
