Great Product - Easy Install. Never enough Bling.
Looks great and functional. Take your time getting them in place.
Makes a big difference in the look of the bike by breaking up the plain look of the factory color matched trim pieces. However, be prepared to invest more time removing pieces of packaging shrink wrap than installing the trim on your bike. Patients is definitely required to remove the parts from the packaging while not marring the exposed surfaces. Also recommend drilling out the mounts to remove extra chrome in the mounting holes to make sure you don't crack or break the mounts. Only had one piece of the kit not fitting correctly, so overall I would recommend these trim pieces to dress up your 'Wing. Some minor pushing and tugging is required when installing
the Bridgestone front tire cured the low speed wobble and made the rig a lot different machine, a Dunlap will never see that front rim again, 350 miles so far and all good, if it makes 15k thats nice, rating may change after a few thousand miles, Jim, Green Bay, Wi
They work great. The Bike end of it is certainly a tight - waterproof connection. It takes some doing getting it plugged in.

Ugly?....Yes Obtrusive?....Sometimes Would I sell it?...Not for a million dollars! On the slab for a few hundred miles, and need a COLD or HOT drink (without stopping)? This is the product for you. Works just great! Get one or regret not doing it. They need to offer the claw and cup for smaller size without buying the entire kit. GREAT PRODUCT!!! |
I was recentley hit from behind whilst moving off from behind! the force of the impact bend my backrest by about 40 degrees from it's upright position, if I did not have the backrest, I would have been sent over the back of the bike and potentially suffered damage to my back, though not the obvious reason in buying a back rest, a definate advantage and safefy device in case of a rear end shunt! Would not ride without one!
When you get ready to install this, put on a pot of coffee or get a couple cans of pop. This is not a hard install but it does take time. Well worth the effort, they look like factory install product.
Standing there with a really long knife looking to cut the seat... no pressure there! It actually was quite an easy install and the comfort is great! Twenty three states, Deals Gap and 7,700 miles without a back or shoulder ache in May 2009! Looks as if it were original equipment.
Reviewer Michael has it right! I,too, was confused by the lack of complete directions. I did install them and found I had to reinstall a part because of the confusion. I've ridden for years with boards and these don't seem to fit me quite right. Short from front to back, I'm a size 12, and the front toe sits too close to the engine housing. As for the two pieces that go under the board; those both broke off after starting up the Tail of the Dragon! Supposedly they protect the sides of the board from wear. No joy there. Look great. Heavy duty.
Well the truth is they don't really fit that well. The radius of the bend is off a bit and they don't fit with the flat pieces. If you use a hair drier, on a low heat setting, you can bend them a little to have a closer fit. Holes were also just a touch off. Don't tighten them until you have all the screws in and then tighten each as you would lug nuts. Alternating as you go. Riding partner liked them so much he, too, bought a pair.
I wanted additional lighting for the rear and these work great! I was a little apprehensive about taking the rear of the bike apart but it went together well. Took about 1 hour. My riding buddies say it looks great and lights up nicely.
