| Just an update to my last review. Still going great.I added 2 poles on each outer corner about 24 inches long. now when I go on a trip I just slip my luggage (largest type that is carry-on legal)behind the poles and just one bungie cord wrapped around the poles and luggage holds it all together. |

Well friends I know that my opinion is going to be unpopular to the vertically challenged but please try to understand that this is being written by someone who is 6'4" tall and 255lbs, for like sized motorcyclists. The back rest appears to be of good construction and aside from the nightmare I had trying to pull the (backrest) bars apart to lock it into place the poor quality screws are my only other gripe. The screws stripped out (which is par for the course with Kuryakyn) during install so I have to go and find replacements. I knew that as big as I am I would have to put the backrest on, the 3rd position. Once it was mounted I took my trusty wing for a ride. The Kuryakyn backrest ruined the most comfortable motorcycle I had ever driven. Even at the furthest back position I am shoved too far forward kinking my legs into a painful position. My highway pegs are as far forward as they can go and now they are too close to me! I am trying to find out if I can bend the bars back a half an inch too make it useable but the current opinion is that it's not possible without compromising the integrity of the backrest. If you are a large man as am I, try anything other than the Kuryakyn backrest. For those of you out there who are shorter I am sure its a fine product and I will gladly sell you mine! SERIOUSLY! |
| I agree with the staff, this is well worth the price. I never did like the remote bouncing and sliding around on the dash all day. This solved that. |
| Nice little piece of crome. This one is chromed metal not plastic. One thing to consider is if you have a trailer light plug mounted to the fender, this might not fit like it should. My plug was mounted low enough that I could only install this with about half the tape on the fender. So far it's holding. That tape is pretty tenacious. |
| Love the look of the Boards and the missus liked the feel. Now to get her out for a ride and really test them. I agree that the Springs, ball bearing should come included, I will be upgrading the springs as the Left Board will not stay up in turns. Thanks to the other product reviewers their tips made my install a lot faster and easier. |
| A nice little pump. The alligator clips allow for an effortless connection to the battery. Probably not much good on its own if you're in the middle of nowhere, but if you also take along a Stop & Go tire plugger you just might avoid your "Deliverance" movie moment. |
| Nearly essential if you have the floorboards, but I think it would be an unsightly piece of bling on its own. Having just installed it with the boards and the chrome sidestand, it doesn't look like it will create a new scraping hazard. I'm pretty sure that it will not be the lowest point of contact on a good lean. |

| What a difference over the stock pegs! My last ride had floorboards and a heel/toe shifter and, once you're used to the big foot mount and heel-down shifting, it's hard to go back to a peg. I have been on pegs since I bought my 'Wing in '08. If you're like me and wear a low-cut boot and your feet have a tendancy to pivot forward on pegs, then you might know the feeling of having the cuff of the boot dig into your Achilles tendon during a long ride. The flat-footed mount position with these (or any) boards eliminates the pivoting and, in my opinion, creates better posture overall. It all adds up to a more comfortable ride with less fatigue. And the Kuryakyn quality is typically good. Five stars. |
| they look good for the money,but I thought thay would of came out with the spring and ball by now. The problem I had with them was the hair pin that came with the floor boards were to long had to use the oem hair pins and the left floor board fits extreamly tight on the mounts will see if thay work them self in. |
| Relatively easy install, I would recommend going to F4's website and review the installation video if you are not familiar with working on your Wing. Have the Plus 4 w/vent, I thought the vent was poorly engineered also. The vent fits loose in the opening, probably can fix it with a little bit of clear silicone caulk. On the plus side, the wife loves it and works as advertised. |
