It sure improves the appearence of the fuel door. A nice addition.
On a 2010 non-ABS/GPS bike no connection port on the right side. If you don't want to fish wires to the battery, through the fairing over to the DC outlet or tap into the grip heating wires this is not for you. Figure out your connections BEFORE opening product or cutting on your bike, then decide if you want to tackle this. I called Wingstuff service and was told there wasn't an "extra" connection on the right side. Ended up wiring around and tapping into the AC behind the fuse. It looks nice but I wasn't happy that it was so difficult to connect to electrical. Instructions weak.

Install was a breeze nothing could be made better. I put this on in ab out 10 minutes. One thing I didn't like is the hight of the shield protecter on top of the brace. Its not that tall. I hate to get chips from stones now. 4 stars for less protection. I like the stability. you can feel the differance. Hi quality and looks. |
I had the dealer install this brace on my 2006 while having all balls bearing and progressive springs installed. Do not hesitate to have the Gen II brace installed on your bike ..or do it yourself. Makes the world of difference in handling at all speeds and gets rid of the mushy front end.

Installed the F4+4 at Wing Ding in Des Moines 2010 with the vent (it to is loose) Have done 15000 miles since install. Didn't encounter much rain for the first 8000 miles while riding in the USA but beaded and ran off well when we did. Now with bike back in New Zealand and another 7000 miles on the sheild water won't bead and run off so have to use Rainex all the time as most rides involve some rain along the way. I still use the F4 cleaner. With 15000 miles there is no scratches on the sheild and still very clear to see through, only complaint is it needs to be an 1" wider each side to stop the water runoff going onto my hands. Will buy again without the vent. |
I installed upper and lower deflectors nice fit. Easy to install. So far they seem functional haven't been in the heat yet. So far no complaints.
Took my time, measured and marked three times before drilling. I installed with the risers and glad I did. Gotta love more chrome. Only thing that disappointed me was the weight. I bought the rack bag to go with it, but the weight of the rack alone doesn't leave much for loading the bag.
All I can say is.... Who needs a trailer, when you have this thing. Seems to hold alot more that it looks like it will. Lots & lots of neat compartments all around, with a nice deep, full compartment in the center. Locks securly to the rack with the 2 rods. I installed this with exhaust turn downs and a mud flap, must be why mine stays pretty clean.
I have had my Cobra's installed for just one year now, and did not put all that many miles on the bike in the summer of 10, I installed the Dyna beads along with these tires and mounted them myself using the lashing strap method which really works slick. The tires seem to handle and corner very well and so far I have had no vibration issues using the dyna beads, the only reason I gave them a 4 stars was that here in wisconsin they like to do a lot of the "snake patch" (least thats what I call it) where they fill the cracks with the tar and throw some gravel over it, those things become like driving on ball bearings on ice if you hit them on a hot day, and these tires only seemed to aggrivate that problem even more. With that being said, it is my only complaint about the tires so far, I have averaged a high of 10,000 miles out of the stock tires and a low of less then 6 on a set of metzlers, I will be anxious to see if I can top the 10,000 mark with this set, everything I have read so far would tend to lead me to believe that wont be a problem. Wingstuff did a great job in delivery, very quick and speedy, at a great price
Both sides are basically the same , clean you panel good...tweak your new chrome cover to fit....peel off protective cover and stick it on. Take your time and do it right....you only get one shot at it.
With the Honda Voltmeter in place this is a must along with the oppisite side plate... just a little tweaking and the fit is right on. Looks great. Like some of these other products ... make sure you use some alcohol to clean the pane real good ... and once you get it fitted ... peel the protective film off and stick on ..... you get one shot at it...so make it good.
Nice rack, well made and finished. I bought this one because it is minimal in size and doesn't appear to overwhelm the trunk. I agree that the template ifor drilling is inadequate and can allow for errors. W would suggest taping a large sheet of paper over the trunk and locating rack on top where you want it. Then mark circles around mounting stand offs, remove rack, center crosshairs inside previously drawn circles and drill at the intersections of crosshairs.
