With buying my bike new I want to take as good of care that is possible so when my first set of tires where worn out I put the factory choice back on and was really upset with my dealer for screwing something up because it didn't wobble with the first set of tires, so after reading about these bridgestones I tried a set and still had the problem. After talking to the tire reps at wing ding and others in our chapter I knew that the bearings and fork brace wasnt for me.The problem is in the spinning mas ( the tire and wheel ) On a car they balance both sides of the rim not one wheight in the middle so with that in mind the centra matic seemed like the best shot for me. Im so glad that I didnt waste my hard earned money on yet another snake oil toy for my bike that has no affect on the problem. Now my bike goes straight and true.( Why cannt Honda see this and fix it to make there customers happy?) Fremont,Ohio |
Perfect for the Goldwing 1800. Can't say enough how much a difference these make and how they extend my riding season to just about all year long. I have since bought the total kit even the foot wings that keep the rain off the feet.
After a couple of years, this rack still performs well. When I had rather not pull my trailer, this rack is perfect for extra storage or my chest cooler. Noe they need to come out with specific straps to secure items to it. I bought a all weather trunck at Walmart that fits perfect and can be pad locked if needed. You just can't lock it to the rack...
I am very please with the added rear end visibility (Brightness). I also found it very easy in loctaing the 14 pin connector for the plug and play. There was a little challenge in reinstalling the seat bolts, worth the money!
....Some have complained about lid closing issues. Align as best you can with the template provided. After it is all said and done, angle file the high sides of the bumpers to allow the lid to shut and respond to the remote key lock. If you needed these, your lid didn't fit right in the first place anyway. Make it work. Don't gripe about the design, gripe to yourself about the install.
I have just installed these and they work and look great. I removed the switches from the housings (Right and Left) and sent them to ww.mywingbling.com to have painted. Very easy install. My only advise would be that prior to loosening and removing the fluid cover, loosen the bar mounting clamp so you can position the fluid housing as level as possible. This will eliminate any fluid from seeping out onto the paint. But if by chance it does happen, make sure you have alcohol and a rag near by to clean it off ASAP. Otherwise it will damage the paint. I have put a picture of the switch on my profile.
This new generation plastic and design work very well together. Both my wife and I enjoy less buffing and we stay warmer or cooler depending on how we adjust the wings. We also purchased the lower new generation air wing for the bottom and our trike is really more comfortable.
I recently installed an XM radio system to my wing and had that annoying harmonic sound coming from the speakers while listening to the music. I researched the blogs concerning this issue and was surprised to read that some people had this issue and other did not have a problem at all. I was the lucky one I guess and had to order this cable. Just after installing it, which took less than 5 minutes to do, I started it up, turned on the system and sha-zam that annoying harmonic sound was gone, sounds fantastic. Thank you again Wing Stuff once again for doing what you do best, serving our needs with fantastic products.

The left clamp and swing arm assy bolt that connects to the 6" extension of the floorboard is about 1/2" too short. Because of this the swing arm assy broke off from the floorboard extension when I rather gently laid the bike over on it's left side in a parking lot. If this bolt was 1/2" longer it would protrude farther into the swing arm assy body and be much stronger. This happened on my '06 GL1800. I hope the bolts on the newer models are longer. |
Great item. Sure makes it easy to add other lighting. Had trouble locating the 14 pin plug but after contacting a Kuryakyn rep and his fine help, I got it installed w/o much effort. I fed a plastic coated cable to the rear and pulled wiring with that.
