The worst part about this install was having to drill holes in the housing. Once I got over that, it was a breeze. Like someone else stated, I was disappointed in the fact that you really can't see them during the day. But at night they show up very nice. I really like the red to yellow switch that you get when using your blinker. Nice attention getter. I highly recommend this addition. |
| The GL1800 needs some room to stretch for most of us. These did the trick for me. Average height and inseam I needed the extra reach these provided. Adjustment took a couple tries to get it right, but not too tough. What's really needed is the shorter arms as an option when you buy the kit, the 6" arms were too long for my needs, the 4" are better IMO |
| I'd been toying with a hitch rack for a while, but didn't have a hitch so this fit the bill perfectly. We no longer pull a trailer but needed some way to augment the luggage capability. Leaves almost no trace of itself when off the bike, and was a simple straight forward (even for a dolt like me) install. I even cut the hole in the fender rather well. Very pleased with the result. |

I watched the video about the leg wings that claimed to deflect the engine radiator heat. For the investment I thought I would give it a try. I have always had to wear my chaps to withstand the heat from the radiators when moving my feet to the high way pegs. I am happy to say they work! Went for a 200 mile ride with out my chaps on. The heat was deflected very well and was able to wear shorts if I want! The leg wings seems to have no effect on engine cooling even with the 100+ degree day we had. Very pleased with product and will recommend to all wing owner with high way pegs. Of course time will tell about the durability of the product as other posts have indicated. |

| Bought this product because it is nice and works well when you use it. That's if it does not fall off the Bike due to vibration. Had to a number of time retighten the thumb lock, even applied a little lock tight and here I am debating if I should by the replacement basket as it eventualy fell off on my 100 mile trip. Who knows maybe I will find off the highway in the future. So unless you like throwing your money, away buy one. |
| These look great, were extremely easy to install and I love the extra 3/4" of legroom. They still leave plenty of room to use the OEM shifter. |
| This hitch is well built and looks very functional. Unfortunately the instructions that came with the hitch had an addendum page to install this on the GL1800 2nd Gen. After struggling with this for more than 4 hours I removed the hitch and reinstalled all the panels that had to be removed. There is no way to install this hitch as per the instructions as a metal mount for the Tail Light Assembly was in the way. After emailing Joseph at WingStuff with pictures of my problem he got me a service number at Add On. I contacted them and told them that there was no way to install this with their current instructions. I said if they could tell me how to remove the Tail Light Assembly I was pretty sure that it could be installed. Once they gave me directions I had no problem installing the hitch in a couple of hours. I have send information to Add On to revise their installation instructions to remove the Tail Light Assembly before installing the hitch. In addition I would suggest that they provide a You Tube video of the process as other hitch providers have done. |
| I bought this for my 2010 GL1800. I think that it is of good quality but the instructions could have been a little clearer. Glad that I am able to figure things out before messing things up. If you have never removed the trim strips please be careful. It is very easy to break the little tabs that hold them in place. Other than that I am very happy with this item. |

Two of the feet on the rack had stripped screw holes. Had to buy a tap to get it to work. Once fixed, it was a breeze to put on. Looks great on the bike. |
| I purchased the Utopia backrest and the easy mount bolt set this week. The install was easy and the quality of the product is excellent. The backrest does not look like an after market add on, it looks like original equipment. Reinstalling the seat took less than five minutes with the easy mount bolt set; the bolts are well worth the $15.00 I paid for them. I purchased the Utopia backrest as I have chronic lower back pain and I was hopeful that the Utopia backrest would make it more comfortable for me to ride, especially one the long days in the saddle. The first thing I noticed is that instead of slumping in the seat my back is vertical, I now have the proper posture when riding as I now rest my back on the backrest thus relieving pressure on my lower back. I’m not sure why I got into the habit of riding with an arched back; it may have started because of the ergonomics of my Kawasaki Concours. I rode for about three hours yesterday and had no back paint just some discomfort that I had before I started my ride. I did not feel the stress and discomfort that I usually feel in my lower back, I now feel very comfortable riding with the backrest supporting my lower back and being in a proper sitting position. Be forewarned that when you hit bumps on the road the vibration of the Wing will be felt in the backrest, it’s not uncomfortable, just a new and different feeling. If you suffer from back pain or you want to correct your riding posture you may want to consider adding the backrest. I give the backrest a five star rating and the bolts a five rating as well. |
| Well I thought that is was on for good. NOT SO. It came off in my face, well behind the windshield, at 80 mph on RT 85 traveling from Philly to The Wing Ding in So. Carolina. Now it won't stay on at all. It seems uneven, so the right side sticks but not the left. Don't worry, once it's on it's not on. My front fairing is not damaged from the 3m tape. Had to buy and install more 3m and it still doesn't stick. Kuryakyn, I'm going to need some assistance on this one. |
