Spend Summers in Alberta Canada and winters in Weslaco, Texas. I ride a 2007 Platinum GL1800 and pull an Aluma Cargo trailer when the wife and I wish to go golfing on our trips.
This past year we had a trip to Oshkosh, Wisconsin for the big EAA airshow and then we spent a week in Cable, WI golfing and riding.
I have been a member of the GWRRA since 1991 and have held many positions in our AB-B Edmonton, Alberta Chapter. I am currently the newsletter editor for the chapter.

Major Problems with the Install
| This hitch is well built and looks very functional. Unfortunately the instructions that came with the hitch had an addendum page to install this on the GL1800 2nd Gen. After struggling with this for more than 4 hours I removed the hitch and reinstalled all the panels that had to be removed. There is no way to install this hitch as per the instructions as a metal mount for the Tail Light Assembly was in the way. After emailing Joseph at WingStuff with pictures of my problem he got me a service number at Add On. I contacted them and told them that there was no way to install this with their current instructions. I said if they could tell me how to remove the Tail Light Assembly I was pretty sure that it could be installed. Once they gave me directions I had no problem installing the hitch in a couple of hours. I have send information to Add On to revise their installation instructions to remove the Tail Light Assembly before installing the hitch. In addition I would suggest that they provide a You Tube video of the process as other hitch providers have done. |
