Nice Feel But Not As Warm As I’d Like
I bought these black grips with the weighted ends about a year ago. They were relatively easy to install, they look nice and they are comfortable. Shortly after installing them I posted a review on this site which basically had these same comments and also noted that they do not get nearly as warm as the stock grips and they take longer to heat. I’m disappointed to see that review has been removed from the site. After riding with these grips for about 9 months I decided to remove them since it was getting cold again and I prefer the high heat available from the stock grips for those days when I don’t want to wear my heated gloves. After removing the grips I can give you a better estimate of the heat you will receive. With these grips the MAXIMUM heat I received was equivalent to the heat received from setting #2 on my 2008 GW standard grips. So if warmth is important, try setting your handlebar heat to #2 to see if it is providing you with enough heat before you buy these because that is all you will get with these if you have the same experience I did. I like the comfort of the larger grip so much I will likely reinstall these next spring but I am disappointed in the lack of heat that is transferred and the lack of clarity on how much heat is lost by installing these. |

interference with clutch switch
I found that the one side left a slight gap, but the biggest thing is that I can't start the bike while in gear simply by pulling in the clutch leaver. The extra thickness does not allow the clutch to pull in far enough to satisfy the switch. |

Changing Grips One More Time
I've replace the Iso grips for the fourth time but this time I went with the Gloss Black grips. They have the same comfort as the chrome ones but the chrome kept bubbling and peeling after about a 3 month use which I believe was being caused from the acid in my body. It has been almost 3 months and these Gloss Black look just like the day that I installed them. Being that I do a lot of traveling the comfort of these grips are a must and I do not think that you would go wrong getting them; I do have small hands. In the winter months there is a longer time for the heated grip to be felt but with the gloves that I use it does not make that must difference in the time or the lost of some of the heat. |

I love the look of these and the larger diameter are a real blessing on these old hands. I am disappointed in the very poor heat transfer. I just do not get the heat through them that I was expecting. I also found the tolerances to be less then ideal so even when installed carefully there was still a slight gap on one in the middle (BUT not the other, go figure!). |

Grips look great with the end weights. Looking forward to trying them on a longer ride to see if the hands get that cramping feeling. Like they did with the factory grips. Took 20 mins to install. Used zip ties to close them together. Takes a little longer for the grips to heat , but that’s to be expected. |

Bought these since the stock grips were small and other reviews indicated they worked well with the heated OEM grips (from a heat perspective). These are huge and take some time to adjust to if you have been riding with the stock grips for some time. I am disappointed with the lack of heat transfer and would return them for this reason if I could. They look good and feel good but if you want/need the nice heat that is available with the stock do not plan on using these in cold weather. |

Got these grips because the stock ones are so skinny and I wanted alittle more thickness, well these are now huge, they cost too much to throw away. Otherwise they were easy to install and look nice. |

These really add to the looks of my bike. Something different than the standard chrome versions I've had in the past. Install is not too bad but, you really need to use cable ties to help tighten them up as you install. Haven't tried the heat yet so, I am not sure if they will really warm your hands in colder weather. |

I too had the chrome ones on my 2007 with weights plus colored ring. They really helped my hands from preventing cramps that happened using OEM grips. I installed the black ones yesterday on 2012 with weights plus colored rings. Install went better than the chrome ones and i know they will be worth the investment for me. |

I'm starting to wonder about Kury's commitment to quality control. I have two HD baggers with the chrome ISO's (but not for fitting over heated grips) and they have been fine. First off, they didn't finish the metal parts completely; there is bare unpainted metal where the collar fits over the rubber factory grip collar so I'm thinking they'll rust in short time. The rubber sleeves slid on easily (I used WD40 to assist). The metal clamshells are quite thin gauge metal and though I got the tabs to line up correctly, the grips "swell" in the center giving a slightly bulbous look (small space appears towards halfway point along grip). I 'gently' used a small-bladed screwdriver to fully pull the rubber extrusions through the holes in the clamshells. I WILL recommend these though because if you don't like the thin factory grips, or the throttle twitching that occurs when you try to maintain slow speed throttle at the same time as you're reaching for turn-signals, switches, etc., you'll like these. I like the diameter of these MORE than the ISO's on my HD's because of the slightly larger diameter. I installed with the over-sized throttle extension and it's a great combo. |

I had the Chrome version of these on my 2007 and loved them then. So I got these for my 2012. They go on very easily; easier than they did on the 2007. Keeps large hands from cramping holding the skinny stock grips. They should come as a set with the end weights though. |
