Back Rest
| I purchased this Item to install on my new 2014 GL1800. I do quite long distance riding and the need for a back rest is a MUST. I had one in my previous GL1800 but from another manufacturer, which to install you need to modify the OEM seat. I didn't want to go through that task again so I purchased the one from Kuryakin. There are three CONs that I don't particularly liked with this item. One is that the backrest has like a pouch that is retained by adhesive backing. The pouch seemed to be falling as the adhesive melts or softens in hot days. Living in Florida this is an issue. Second all the braket screws that holds the backrest to the bracket has exhibited a brown discoloration, like rust. This is visible as it has a high contrast to Chrome. Finally, the bracket arms holding the backrest are too wide or big that is uncomfortable to the passenger; specially if it is a female. All in all, I gave this item a 3 out of 5 for functionality. It does what I bought it for; to support my back. I would rated lower for appearance and quality. |

| Can sit in the saddle longer without shoulder burning. Made a huge difference in comfort. If you have back problems this will help. |

Goodbye to my aching back .......
| As other reviewers have said, it is ridiculously easy to install. It also looks OEM (I.e. It looks like the bike came out of the factory with the backrest already fitted). Well done Kuryakyn. I did a lot of research before buying this backrest because it's not cheap. It is fully adjustable to just how you want it - forward & back, up & down, and tilt. I am very satisfied. I have had a similar Kuryakyn backrest on my Honda VTX1300 for many years now and love it. This will be no different. Please note though that my wife only gave it 4 stars from a back seat perspective because her legs touch the chrome support. Not a biggie though. |

| This is a nice backrest and pouch! It was so simple to install I actually had to go back and re-read the instructions to make sure I hadn't forgotten something! Very comfortable and almost infinitely adjustable. |

I took a chance and liked it.
| After reading the one review, I was a bit worried "one star really" so here we go, I am 6'2" so I was a bit worried that the other backrest would not move back were I might need it. So looking at this one, it has forward and back, up and down, also lean adjustments, also if I truly hate the backrest it can be removed. I was surprised at were I have the adjustment at, quite a ways forward even for my size. and long arms. At this point I love the backrest. This is why I only gave it 4 stars, the pouch that is on the back of the back rest it is very cool BUT it is Velcro-ed on, and in the hot western sun glue is not that good. one little area has a problem staying glued. |

back and arm rests
| dont buy this poorly designed back and arm rest.....bask rest wont swivel, and front to rear no good too. arm rests hard, cant open trunk without swinging out arm rests....... stupid..... |
