Race Tech Spring and Gold Valves
This 2008 GL1800 odometer reads only 19679 miles. The ride was harsh, NO ruff I would ride around manhole covers because it would hurt my back! I was also experiencing the much talked about 30 to 40 MPH front-end wobble. Last weekend I installed the Gold Valve and Emulator fork kit with the Race Tech springs for my wing. I have been a wrench all my life and want to caution anyone that wants to install this DYI kit. Let Race Tech do your install if your level of expertise is under par. Not wanting to chance a botched job I read the instructions several times to make sure everything went smooth. Granted this install is relatively straightforward but suspension and brakes are two things I take very seriously. While I had the front forks dismantled I took the extra time to install the All Balls triple tree bearing upgrade. The money and time spent was quite apparent and astounding on the first ride. Really words can’t describe the difference these two upgrades made to the ride. The front wobbles, GONE! Only down side is, now you can feel the difference between the upgraded front forks and the stock rear suspension. As soon as I can I will upgrade the rear. Hats off to Race Tech! You're the best! |

great product
Put the race tech 1.1 with Champion 4.5 rake on a 05 wing champion trike with 8k miles. With 2 of us riders up it weighed in at 1650# Used 20 weigth fork oil! The trike went from a piece of garbage (junk)to handle! Now a fine tuned handeling machine. You would not know it was the same trike. |

My bike is an 09 with 33k miles. I changed the fork springs and the fork oil(10 wt.) I got the .90 springs to match my weight. It is a great improvement. The front is firmer and yet rides noticeably smoother. I will have to wait to do the rear shock, its more labor and money. I set the springs at 5/8 inch preload and its much better than stock. If you can only do the springs do it its worth it. Jim gwrra 320221 |

I purchased my wing from the original owner almost a year ago with 39113 miles on the clock. It now has 48k and in that time I noted several suspension/steering issues. Pure tracking at high speed and unsteady steering at parking lot speeds, not to mention overall rough ride. I had the Race Tech Gold valve suspention installed front and rear at Race Tech in Corona Ca. All the suspension issues are now gone. The ride is firm but smooth. The "turn-in" at speed is spot on and the slow speed manuvers are percise and steady. I find that I'm riding faster and I'm more aggressive in the curves. The bike handles more sport like and is very predictable. Wife was not happy about the money I spent on the suspension until I took her for a ride on Angelus Crest Hwy. She noticed the smooth ride right away and eventhough she can't see the upgrade she gives a thumbs up. If I had it to do all over again I would have spent my money on the Rach Tech suspension first instead of the chrome stuff. 5 stars worth the $$$... |

I had the Race Tech springs, Race Tech gold valves, the all balls bearings and the Superbrace installed at the same time, so I'm not exactly sure what item had the largest impact on the improvement. I originally had the 1.20 springs installed and they were a little too stiff for me, so I brought the bike back to Wingstuff and they replaced the springs with the .95 units which ended up being perfect.. I am glad I took the leap.. Customer service at Wingstuff is topnotch!! Dave, Earl, AJ and Brent are good dudes.. |
