I just received my luggage rack as an x-mas gift and was very disappointed in the products finish. The trailing end has blemishes in the finish and I am certain that it is in the material and not the polished finish. It almost seems that this was not a new part... |
Instructions are generic, and not specific to any motorcycle or car. That's to be understood since it is a universal product. Installed just fine, but you either need a wiring schematic or someone who knows where the wire is. By the way, on the 2008 GL1800 it's a Green wire with a red stripe coming out of Connector #31, which is one of the 2 large gray connectors under the seat. It may be different on different models or years. Mine is a Non-ABS, Non-Airbag, with comfort, audio and Navigation. |
I INSTALLED HIGH OUTPUT ALTERNATOR AND GEL BATTERY. IT WAS A TIGHT FIT FOR THE ALTERNATOR IT JUST FITS IN. THE CHARGING IS VERY GOOD AT LOW RPM'S.I THING THE ENGINE EVEN RUNS BETTER WITH FULL CHARGED BATTERY ALL THE TIME. I PUT IN THE COMPU-FIRE GEL BATTERY AND I THOUGHT MY STARTER WAS GOING TO JUMP RIGHT OUT OF THE BIKE.IT WORKS GREAT. THANKS RICHARD |
Simple but very effective. Remove nothing but the oil filter. |
Very nice indeed! I only put the lower ones on and I think I'll leave it that way. I like having my color matched molding on the trunk and the lights down low. It brings all my chrome and ring of fire from front to rear nicely. I almost went with the other lights that show the red lense all the time becouse I read that they were much brighter than these, but I didn't want to look like a 18 wheeler. hehe! |
mounting system is cheap. These do not fit if you have crome valve covers. you will have to re-cut to fit. don't waist your money |
Update: Yesterday a buddy and I took a 500 mile trip through the Texas hill country. My knees and legs were very comfortable all day and I did not suffer from any knee stiffness at the end of the day. Wish I had bought these 21,000 miles ago. |
Great product, easy install, good instructions and yes it will work with a standard lighter. |
These were on the bike when I bought it. Wife & I put 4,000 miles on it one week riding to Nova Scotia & back. Wife liked the pegs for comfort, but one bolt vibrated loose and lost 2 rubber pads on right peg. Heavy built. Look good. Sounds like not one of the better built Kuryakyn products, but still a good product. I hope to find replacement pads. |
Can never have enough visibility. Get the extra harness and turn it into running light too. Easy to install. |
Got one on my 03 and it looks good and works great. Have overloaded it a few times and no problems. Much better the the chromed pipe racks |
Very disapointed with this products installation. They do not fit the chrome surround and are pushed out of the bodywork by the strong springs.I had to cut and file the plastic lights to make them fit and then glue the whole lot into place. Although it was a pig to fit they do look good when lit at nite. |
