I have approximately 2000 miles on these after installation. The instructions that came with them were adequate and I did not find any aspect of the install to be particularly difficult. The ride quality in the front end has been noticeably improved, although it's not as life changing as some of these other folk suggest. For the price, would recommend if you are comfortable doing the work yourself.
Easy to install.
As stated above, great job/price pulling these together. Plus if you are installing the Progressive Monotubes at the same time you will have a couple of O-Rings left over.
I am 5'10" and wear a 32 inseam jean, more like 31 these days... I was trying to figure out which arms short or 6" and looking at the other reviews pointed me to the short ones. They ended up working great and you have some sliding room on the mounting bar to move forward and back to get them dialed in. I have them in a position that allows me to get my feet out wide and still clear the bottom of the fairing. As others have indicated I am one of those that found the roll pins to be a complete PITA(hence the 4 star)! Have them preinstalled and add a couple of bucks, would be a great help, or redesign and have notches cut into the mounting location. Having said that and once installed they offer a great platform to stretch out the legs on a longer cruise, or even a short one and can easily be flipped in and out with the toes.
Vent is well built and appears to be exactly like the OEM vent. The smoke finish is nice with my tinted windshield. I had to do a bit of filing to make it fit. I have the VStream windshield which seems to be slightly thicker than the previous one. In order for the two halves to clip together I had to use my dremel to shave off some material on the vent to fit.
They have a better feel that the factory grips which can feel a little "plastic". I couldn't get them on all the way with soapy water, so I used hair spray, which worked great. I haven't been on any long trips since I put them on, but they should make those even better.
Perfect replacement for those small grab rails. Makes putting the bike on the center stand easy and allows a strap point for back seat luggage.
Working on the rear of my RED wing. This along with the tail light chrome trip and LED's will finish the look when done. The quality of this piece is nice. Peel and stick no problem. Thanks Wingstuff
The center stand rubber you will need is 50524-MG9-000 - RUB, STAND STOPPER
Looks great but always come loose. Would have been a lot easier if the four nuts holding it on could have been a little shorter. But I will be taking mine off because they won't stay tighten. It's not worth the money IMO. I wish I could say something good about it but after riding my bike today without my wife I had to keep reaching back to pull them in.
so many windshields out there, pros and cons on everyone I figure i was happy with my first TAKA so after 5yrs and 52,000 miles I bought another TAKA. So in with the new
This is a follow-up to my previous review. Ciro, the manufacturer, customer service went out of their way solving the problems. Light now works w my Samsung phone. Turns out the location setting on the phone needs to be turned on. Apparently older phones did not require this. Now works fine. Ciro say they will update installation instructions that come with the product so users don't have same problem. I met up w Ciro at Daytona Bike week, they installed my 3rd time product. Maybe the first 2 products were just a bad lot. After several months of use, including 5 day road trips, everything is working flawlessly. Outstanding support and really cool product deserves 5 star, but due to my original problems I deducted one star.
