About:

Retired USAF - Master Electrician - Professional Photographer. Several years ago I purchased a 1984 Gold Wing, after a 20+ year period without a bike. Last year I purchased a 2006 Gold Wing and I think it's finally broken me in. What a difference! My wife and I are really enjoying the new Wing, and it's far more comfortable.

I purchased this product a few years ago and they looked outstanding! They go on in sections. Recently I have noticed that at least one section on trunk and two on saddlebags ceased to light.

After buying this, looking at it and reading the instructions many times, I finally decided to tackle what I thought was going to be a major project. I enlisted the help of my wife and, together, we got 'er dun! Blue painters tape, a cloth measuring tape (to get around those curved areas), careful measuring and patience (Measure twice-drill once) provided outstanding results. It also helps to drill in the same direction as the leg with riser attached (Temp attach riser to leg with tape); no reaming required! Work together with your partner and install with no worries!

I Mounted this to my 2006 Gold Wing. Installation was pretty straight forward, but I would recommend replacing the circular spacers in the mounting hardware kit with a piece of clear plastic tubing/hose from a hardware store. I glued original spacers as instructed, but they came loose and allowed assembly to shift forward toward bike; the tubing eliminated this movement while providing tension on the safety locking pins. I have also modified this product to permit greater speeds than originally advertised. I fly 2-each 3'x 5' flags when providing escort service with the PGR. Did I mention always use some form of lock-tight on threads of bolts...

I am very happy with this product and the prompt handling of my order by Wingstuff! I was careful to read the instructions a couple of times and did not tighten the mounting hardware until everything was in its final place. Take your time, use the recommended torque values and you'll reap the benefits of a nice hitch at a nice price for your bike (Mine is a 2006 Gold Wing). Next project, trunk rack...
