Wingstuff belly pan for Harley
| The belly pan is fine. This part should be installed with metric hardware. I really am surprised it uses 5/16 allen and 1/2 hex. This means I need to carry two additional tools, or a better idea is to replace hardware at my expense of time and money. I log 15-20k milkes annually, and a tool kit is part of my touring. |

Nice product
| I installed on the vulnerable underside of my '18 Goldwing. Install was easy enough. I did however unbolt the horn on the left side to enable access to the tip over guard bolt. I recommend this protection. |

Belly pan
| Quick delivery and very well packaged. Easy to install adds an incredible amount of protection to the underside of the motor from road debris. It’s also easy to remove for oil changes takes less than five minutes to remove. In my opinion, it’s a must have item. |

| Never thought about adding a belly pan before on my previous Gold Wings, but with the 18+ frame design and reduced ground clearance, engine protection is required: for those curbs, speed bumps, and road debris you will encounter. Unlike other reviews, I found it easy to install and remove for oil change. Unlike other competing products: that bolt to the bottom motor case, I think the unit mounted to the frame offers a greater protection by featuring an extended crush zone, that has been designed into our automobiles for the last 50 yrs. Buy it, you’ll like it. |

Protect your belly
| Materials are high quality. That being said there is one thing that I did not like. The back bolt, which fits into a slot in the frame, was very frustrating to install correctly. The bottom of this bolt has a slot in it to thow the correct orientation. I do not have a lift to get my bike up in the air. So it was impossible to see the slot. It would have been awesome to have that slot be deep enough to fit a slowed screw driver into it. This would serve 2 purposes, it would be a good way to control the bolt and it would be easy to get it correctly lined up. I ended up using a Dremel tool and a cut off disc to cut a very shallow slot into the bottom of the bolt and that did the trick. The right side bracket was no problem. The left side is way to hard unless you take the side bottom cover off. Once that was out of the way, it was easy. One thing I was concerned about was that the left side bracket where it bolts to the engine guard was not sitting flush against the engine. Dont worry, once you tighten the 12 mm bolt to the side of the engine, the soft aluminum bracket arm will confirm and sit flush. I pushed the belly pan as high as it would go and tightened it. Be aware of your hoses that come out near the center stand... Don't let them get smashed between the exhaust pipes, slide them over towards the outter left side of the bike. Over all it's a quality product and I expect it to last forever. |

Good protection plan
| Will be installing the Belly Pan after the 1st oil change. Read a lot about them on forums and it sounded like a good idea. Only down side I read about was lack of ventilation (possibility of running hot). So, I laid out a pattern and drilled 1/8 inch holes to allow some ventilation. I realize there are other belly pans that have air flow grooves but I didn't care for the way they mounted (looked a little cheaper quality). It will be installed after I change the oil. Liked the oil filter kit sold by Wing Stuff that also included the filter wrench (socket). |

Vibration noise
| Just completed a road trip to Jacksonville, Fl and this engine pan was driving me nuts with all vibration noise throughout my whole trip. There should be some kind of rubber spacers between the pan and the engine, great ideal but to me poor design. Please contact me if you have a better ideal or some kind of adjustment needed or ideal to end the vibration noise, thanks. |

| Installed for a little peace of mind from road debris. I think it will help deflect most objects. You will have to remove it for oil changes. Time will tell on fastener longevity. Installing it is not difficult for the mechanically inclined. |

Simply Made but Great Protection
| The design makes this engine protection pan a safety add-on item and it's well made in one main piece which simplifies installation. Don't forget that with the Goldwing's you have oil filters exposed in this vital area and the new generation (2018-2024) you have two. I had my 2008 GW take a hard impact from road debris and later found a heavily dented oil filter that I was amazed it did not puncture! However I worried about the lack of oil flow? This new version is easily installed and is rugged. I will offer an installation hint below. Good Rides The instructions are good but the left side mounting bolt was difficult for me to gain access. I found that removing the L driving light cover (black and only two screws) exposed the impact bar underneath where it's mounting bolt is your goal. Also I easily removed the horn unit (one nut only and turned it sideways without disconnecting the wiring) to allow for complete and easy finish to the process! Good Luck |
