HAD MINE FOR A YEAR NOW. NO PROBLEMS WITH TOWING. THE FIT WAS TIGHT ON MY 06. I DIDN'T FOLLOW THE DIRECTION ALL THE WAY. I PUSHED AND SHOVED TILL I GOT THE BARS INTO PLACE WITHOUT LOOSENING THE BAGS LIKE THEY SAY. STILL ALL IN ALL FOR THE MONEY THEY ARE NOT BAD. I HAD TO REPLACE A TIRE ALSO AND HAD NO PROBLEM WITH THE HITCH. I EVEN WENT TO THE DARKSIDE WITH A CAR TIRE AND STILL HAD NO PROBLEM. |
THE ONES I GOT DID NOT FIT PERFECT. THEY WHERE TOO LONG AND I HAD TO WARP THEM FOR THE SCREW TO LINE UP. . |
I JUST RECEIVED THESE TODAY OCT 30 2007. I WAS VERY DISAPPOINTED TO FIND THAT I HAD TO TAKE THE OLD BOARDS APART AND USE THE SPRING AND CLIPS FOR THE NEW ONE. WHY DIDN'T THEY COME READY TO INSTALL. AS MUCH AS THEY COST WHY COULDN'T THEY HAVE THE $0.15 CENT SPRING IN PLACE. IT IS NOT A DIFFICULT JOB BUT WHEN YOU ORDER A QUALITY PRODUCT YOU EXPECT IT TO BE COMPLETE. I LIKE THE BOARDS JUST FRUSTRATED WITH KURYAKYN. |
Step one....throw away the instructions....they miss numerous steps. The ball bearing and spring need to be used from the stock boards and mine had to be dug out of the stock boards with a screwdriver. The directions and pictures are just plain lame. Install time was nearly two hours. Why Kuryakan just doesn't deliver these boards ready to be installed is beyond me. I guarantee you that everyone would be greatful if they did. Product is very solid and looks great. Minus one star for absolutely horrible installation instructions. |
Look great. Feel very solid under your feet. Total install time about 40 minutes.....probably would have been less time if Kuryakan actually included the installation instructions in the kit. Get the matching passenger boards for the complete look. Took away one star for no instructions. |
Received armrest w/drink holder, rusty pivot bolt, did not think anything of it. The bolt broke off half way through the riding season. Kuryakyn would not even talk to me. replacement part is 124.00, VERY POOR item. |
Here's one that really works everybody. Affordable, compact and extremely well built. If you travel don't forget this very important item. Why walk or wait when you can ride on. |
Very comfortable. One issue though. The first install I broke off one of the 4 mounting bolts. The hole had not been re-tapped since chroming. After 3 weeks I got replacement part, which I had to pay shipping (back) to cyclegiant. Again the same hole position needed to be re-tapped. I re-tapped it and all's well. My advice is to insure before attempted assembly that the bolts supplied don't bind. |
These deflectors work very well in both hot and cold weather. They're easy to adjust while riding and don't get in the way. I took the advice of another reviewer and put threadlocker on the chrome nuts. Be prepared, though, you do need to grind the inboard ends of the mount arm to keep it from messing up the fairing. I painted the exposed ends with Hammerite grey paint to keep from rusting. So far so good. |
I purchased these tires at 8000 miles now have 15000 went on a trip to the redwoods in calif, noticed a strang vibration on the way home, wifey noticed it too! this vibration occured only when leaning left, I thought something was going wrong with the driveline. turns out the tire devoloped a bad cupping only on the left side of the tire. I noticed on the trip that the tire was very hot at times, do not know if this contributed to the cupping. I do not trust this tire anymore and will replace it before the next riding season |
I was able to put these on my 2003 by first purchasing the factory speaker mounts from the dealer. They look great and no modification was needed for the 2006 and 2003 speakers mount with the same mounting holes. There are 3 different parts you need for each side but all of the parts needed cost me about $60.00, I just wanted something other than the aftermarket armrests which are a bit too much for my likeing. |
I had just recently bought bought a new windscreen from Honda. Within TEN MILES, a road rock hit it and left an inch long gouge right in the sight of vision. Of course Honda would not replace it. Novus scratch remover #2 (Honda dealer recommended) made it worse. Rick let me know about this windscreen. So far, I have had two rocks whack me and...NOTHING!I use the Novus cleaner/polish on it, and not only does it clean sweet/easy, it makes it slicker than caca through a goose! Maybe its they way I mounted it, but on my bike, this screen seems to sit up a bit straighter. Not only giving me more GPS/vent clearance, but less buffeting. As time passes, and this technology becomes more common, the prices may drop, but right now, it was worth every penny to me. AND, the absence of the black tint band on the bottom gives greater visibility at night to what's right n front of you. |
