These covers were the first thing I put on my Wing and WOW! What a difference! This and the rear spoiler light should have been standard on these bikes, as they were on the 1500's. But, what the hell, Honda knows that if we spend the 20K for the bike, we'll stop at nothing to dress it. (I hate when they're right:). (Still saving for the spoiler)
My wife accused me of "worshiping the Chrome God" - Well, these are not chrome but they really do a great job dressing up the trunk
These add a great touch to the fairing. I originally bought the full shark gills, but took them off - /they overpowered the area - in my opinion. Another big plus for these: They attach with silicon instead of 2-sided tape - A big advantage! Get these babies - you won't be sorry

I had these tires front and rear. I put them on at 5k miles and replaced them both with Dunlops at 12k miles. They are sticky and have great traction which I like. My GL1800 has a horrific front-end wobble that eats my tires up. I get cupping around 2k-3k miles and I max out my air PSI - front and rear. I'm giving up on trying to correct the wobble. I put bearings and Traxxion suspension on for $1,500 and the wobble is worse but my front tire is wearing more evenly. I'll probably get 10k miles or more out of my Dunlops. My original tires were the Bridgestone. I don't know if they were good or not. The dealer told me they were the reason the bike has a wobble. Four trips to Rick Case Honda and they have never been able to help. I've seen bull riders put up with less stress than the GL1800 between 35-44 mph. Shakes like a palm tree in a hurricane. I'll probably go back to the Metzler. They gave me the most confidence in the corners. Good luck. |

Great value. took me a couple of hours to install. Before buttoning it up I tested it and discovered the top 2 lights on the left side were flipped so I just swapped the two light cables. It probably should come with lots of tie wraps, b ut doesn't. I don't understand why they have to go all the way to the front mirrors to hook into the turning signals and it appears that those wires may not be necessary on the 2008 but I installed them anyway. Everything works great, brakes, turn signals, emergency lights and even the remote blinks the upper lights now. Interesting how honda ships duel bulbs in all the lights and only hooks to one. But this kit really makes you visable at a resonable price. |
Overall it's OK. The light isn't as intense as I'd like it to be. The array's push in way to easy. If you are going to buy this, and if it isn't against the warranty I'd try to superglue or some how otherwise adhere the lights into the clips of the moulding itself. Overall fit and finish was 8 out of 10. The saddle bags were much more difficult to install than the trunk. Maybe some kind of pnp harness? I don't think it would be that hard.
Looks great and works like advertised. Get a friend to check the test fit on the other side, it helps speed thing along.
AAfter reading all of the reviews on the luggage rack that recommended ordering the risers, when you ordered the rack, I'm glad I did. They work great. I already had a spoiler and these helped in placement of the rack.
The rack looks great. The instruction were fairly detailed. When you consider what a replacement trunk lid would cost, if you messed up the holes, it was spooky installing it. A template for the holes would be a great idea.
The Lighted Mouldings look great. The adaptor cable worked fine. One small problem was with a "Motor Trike" conversion, the bikes wires were not exactly in the same location and were not accessible the same. The instructions were detailed enough that the job was no problem.
I love the way these dress up the faring. My buddies love them. It really makes a difference and I can't imagine my bike without them now. Great dress-up.
Looks super. Has a wider stand base than the stock stand. Really adds a nice look to a parked Wing. Got a lot of compliments on it. Works perfect with Kuryakyn Floor Boards.
