Being 6'1" the shorter arms are much better. Wish there was an option to buy these with the highway boards. They are adrop in replacement for the stock arms that come with the highway boards. Anyone who is 6' plus, you should order the 4.5" arms along with your highwayboards.
Honestly? Best money I ever spent... should have done this in October last year when I got my '08 Wing.
Easy install in left fairing pocket... no side effects so far.
Good fit... excellent look with the chrome cowl... be patient when installed these plastic parts... some may require a little dressing down with a file... when you do that, the part will fit like it is supposed to fit...
I bought it for the chrome... kept it on the bike because it works much better than the stock stand...
I have these on my '08 Wing... the mirrors are adjusted all the way out, and they are still plenty bright at night... during the day, I can't say there is much advantage to them...
Funny thing happened on the way to intalling my flags... Texas and US... when installed the way intended, the wrapped around the antennae. A separate flagpole that mounts close the the antennae produced the same results. I put a piece of rubber air hose inside the sleeve on each flag, used the little plastic stays and spaces above and below the flag, then wrapped the stays in chrome tape... now the flags swivel freely, never wrap, and have been in place over 3,000 miles with no problems.
Installation is a bit tricky... so just slow down and be patient... the looks and performance of this add-on item are well worth the little trouble to install it.
Worth every penny of the price! Get a few... I keep one on the bike, one at home, and one at the office...
Easy to install. Measure twice and drill once. Tempplate was off slightly but inside off of GL1800 trunk already has marks for drilling the mounting holes.
Great cover, perfect fit on GL1800, Takes up very little room in trunk or saddle bags when stored in the included pouch.
Very nice product, and easy installation. I have had mine on for three years, and they have taken a beating on Alaskan roads. They still look good, but the Chrome finish is showing signs of wear on the leading and lower edges. One thing that requires checking from time to time is the three screws that secure the lower mounting tab. They loosen, and will turn up missing. I check mine each time I wash my bike.
