Had to adjust the twist to get a similar angle to the radio antenna on a GL1100. With this antenna (2 ft), the radio would not transmit on high power at all and was intermittent on low power. J&M would only respond with "What is the SWR at?" Instructions for using an SWR meter should be included, along with the availability of a basic SWR meter for sale on the site as a related product. I ended up throwing this antenna in the corner and installing a "Ground Zero" antenna, with great results. Don't buy this antenna unless you also have an SWR meter and know how to use it.
I found this to be an easy install. I was already under the bike to replace my leaking overflow tank. This should help me prevent any need to replace that tank again. Replacing the tank was not much more money than the belly pan, but I would rather install the belly pan in my garage than the overflow tank while on a road trip.
Very easy installation, a must have item and as others have said one Honda should have included in the first place!
Adds a nice splash of color.
When I purchased my bike used, it already had a set of highway pegs installed with the standard length arms. They were useless to me as I am 6'2" and the position was just not comfortable at all. After switching to these Mini Arms, I actually use my highway pegs. Great improvement for a taller rider.
I bought both the left and right models, but I don't quite understand why they are not miror-image of each other. Oh well, they work great.
Other than drilling a big hole in the appropriate location in the trunk lid inner liner, the install was a snap. I use it to re-charge my mini-laptop in the trunk while on the go.
Since I was only installing the vanity mirror, I did not install the entire harness, which required removing a lot of plastic and drilling a mounting hole for the switch in the left fairing pocket. They should have a smaller, and less expensive, wiring harness option specific to the vanity mirror. With any bit if electrical know-how, you could install the vanity mirror without purchasing this harness.
These work great and quite cheap on price yet a nice quality item!
This item definitely works to stop the remote from sliding and banging around on the bike. Perfect!
I'll take off a star because like others i've read here. the piece is not curved to the bikes fairing. this causes you to put some bend on it! How well the adhesive strip will hold we'll see. If it starts to come off I'll use some silicone. I noticed after the install that there is a nut in the opening! that may make it really difficult to get to now that the trim is installed. It lines up directly with the middle tine! Oh well! It really sharpens the the look. Can't wait for the shark gills and chrome intakes! Wing Stuff sometimes I hate it cuz you guys are causing me to be a shopaholic! Hey it's all saftey chrome anyway!! :-)
Just received these and what a difference they make! Took a ride up to almost 10k here in Colorado. Made the difference to put air on me down in the Denver area, switched to deflect up in the mtns where it was about 20 degrees cooler! Wish I'd of gotten these back during the colder months to help with keeping hands warmer. These are well worth the $$'s and so easy to install!
