I installed them after Xmas it was a little cold hard to install. the paper layout that you lay out for the holes to be drilled was off so make sure you can reach them from underneath. If you put them where theres a dubble wall they will be hard to get to from the bottem to pull them threw. Lost one already I do beleave they are about 1/4 to tall. The back ones are slanted over now. as long as my latch dosen't get damaged its cool.
I've actually never written a review before but on these,I felt compelled. To start with, this is a fine produst as far as looks and quality; however you should think twice before purchasing.I had been riding a cruizer with floorboards for the last nine years so the feel of pegs was not what I wanted so I immediately bought the floorboards. Well the Goldwing (for my size) just isn't designed for floorboards. The mounts are too far back to stretch your legs out (the engine of course causes this) and it really puts your foot at an odd angle to heel shift. Also even though my shoe is only a 10&1/2 there is insufficient room for my foot between the toe and heel shifter. It takes some getting use to to easily find room for your toe between the brake and the valve cover and if vertically challenged (30 in. inseam) it is difficult to get your feet flat on the ground with the floorboars down. After all that, would I buy them again? Not without trying a lot of other things first. I'm not recommending that you don't buy these, I'm just suggesting that you "Try Em before you Buy Em" or think long and hard. A lot of money for us poor boys. By the way, I haven't taken mine off.
I guess Santa must have peeked at my wish list this year - or should I say Mrs. Santa. These frame covers are a tremendous improvment over the dull grey stock covers. Well made and fairly priced. A real winner.
Rattling sound from the rear is gone when riding rough pavements and it closes in a solid sound shut. When you open it the trunk lid pops up right away.
This is an outstanding piece of equipment. No ugly BARS to step over or for your passenger to deal with and a perfect match to the OEM seat pattern. Installation is really quite simple, HOWEVER, unless you are an accomplished mechanic or "very" good with your hands you should not attempt to install it yourself. I was able to install in thirty minutes but I have been a mechanic for forty-five years and even with that I treaded slowly. I would recommend this unit to anyone who is into long distance riding.
Great when new. Started to get the growl in the turns at about 8,000 miles nothing crazy just annoying. Switched them out at about 11,000 miles. I could have got another thousand or so miles out of them. Didn't want to push my luck. Trying out Avons this time. Only have a thousand miles or so on the Avons, so far Fantastic.
Way cool, hope i never need it. I did try it on a flat car tire. Easy to follow instructions works in seconds.

Works great!!! Easy install!!! Worth the price!!! |
I like the sound, the only thing I have bad to say is they came with a ding in the left pipe...You cant see until you are up close. Like the look and sound.
These LED lights look like they always belonged on the bike. But are obviously an after market / after thought. I guess thats the sign of a great accessory, like they were always supposed to be there as opposed to a simple bolt on after thought. Now, if only Kury would hire competent instruction writers.
My interest in these pegs were to have my daughters feet planted firmly. She's 9 1/2 and her feet weren't reaching the floor boards. the highway peg is just what she needed. She loves them. Easy to install, and I agree that the ball bearing/indent mechanism should have came with.
Installed the backrest this morning, there were no directions but who reads them anyway, the installation was very straight forward and took all of 20 minutes. I found the middle position to suit me best and after a 3hr ride this afternoon, a found this product to be very strong and ridgid in the mount. Great addition for comfort!
