This is a nice rack. Just got mine installed, along with a color matched spoiler and it looks great! Quality appears to be good and unlike some others there was no sign of rust in sight. Take your time during the installation and get it lined up properly because once you take a drill bit to the trunk you are pretty much committed! I like the looks of this rack compared to the flat ones... just a personal preference. Very happy with this item.

Sorry to hear about your experience Tigger! I got lucky, I guess. My installation was fairly straight forward, although I will agree the instructions leave MUCH to be desired! Even though these things are adjustable, they are not infinitely adjustable... you pretty much have to find an angle for the arms and hope the ratcheting connector will lock it in somewhere close. With a little trial and error I found a spot that's comfortable and works well. The pieces appear to be of good quality... sturdy and heavy. We'll see how they hold up over time, but for now I'm happy with them. |
I had a set installed on 2/13 by Wingstuff, along with a set of E3's. There was no minimum speed to achieve before they started working, it was instantanous. On the 40+ mile trip home I had the opportunity to venture into the upper speed area and found that even there it was smooth as silk. I will update this in 5 to 6 months to let folks know how they are doing.
This is the second bike I've installed one of these on. Love it! Great design and I really like the fact that there are no bars running up the side of the bike from the rear. Even doing this for the second time it's tough to take a knife to the seat, but it's all good in the end. Attaching the bolts from the bottom can be an exercise in frustration! Helps to have a second set of hands to push on the top of the seat. Can't say enough about this backrest! Absolute necessity on those REALLY long rides! My wife likes the pouch attached to the back too. All around one of the absolute best things you can put on the bike!
Second bike I've put this on. Love it! Beats the heck out of 8 or 10 lugs attached to the negative terminal of your battery! Put mine under the seat and it works great!
I have a 2008 Goldwing and I apparently ordered the wrong one. KU1475 Of course the bar on my Honda is shaped like a H and is 1 1/4" so I ordered the 1 1/4 Round H Bar. I got this for Christmas and live in Maine and just now could get at the bike to find out that it won't fit. I sent a note a week ago to Wingstuff and never heard back. Maybe someone know if I could just get the other piece to clamp on the Handlebar. Thanks [email protected]
I agree with Tommy's review with one addition Holy Razor Blades!! Before I realized that I should be wearing gloves I had blood all over the belly pan. Please remember to wear gloves or have a box of bandages close by.
Nice product and nice price, the construction of it is nice also.
Had to manuver to fit but in the end the hard work was worth the result. Beautiful Bling on my ride. This is a must get.
Excellent item and fit. I totally agree with GRC, carefully bend then into shape prior to final install and apply a little heat to the tape and they are definately on for the count.
Installs easily in 15 minutes if you know to pull out and flex the lower covers so the pan can be slid over the bolts, then attach the front part to check forward/aft adjustment before tightening. Instructions do not tell you how to get the lower covers over the bolts, luckily I had read about this on the GL1800riders.com.
Came with in a few days of ordering. well made looks great on bike easy to install. recommend buy good product
