My second one. Excellent product, and a great price!!
I am epoxying key stubs into the knobs for easy access to the right pocket and gas cap. Will leave them in place all the time. Then I can just leave the key on ACC when filling and don't have to wait for the GPS to boot up! They look great!!!

Installed one on my GL1500 AFTER the alternator crapped out. Worked very well, so just put one on my '08. Mounted it as suggested and tapped into the power plug inside the left pocket. Soldered directly to the female ends and clipped back together. Took about 20 minutes. |
First let me say I have 60,000+ miles on these and the concept is great, chrome plating not so good, even being grarge kept with proper cleaning and drying pitting began after a year of use. Cup holder does not properly fit anything I have found. As other reviewers have said, rembering to swing out to open trunk. Passengers feel secure and comfortable with them.
This product adds peace of mind to the owner knowing that vital elements are protected. This is like a ribcage for your motorcycle. Install was easy. I added some Vycor aluminum flashing to belly pan side which sits between belly pan and the wing engine which adds stiffening and cushion and reduces vibration, cut slits in flashing to maintain proper venting.
Excellent product quality. Installation could be improved with better instructions with pictures. Recommend that Bushtec provide online download of improved instructions to aid installation. Mud flap looks good and is made with quality material but is too small to adequately protect trailer from road debris. I ended up making my own that is larger and further back.
Nice Grips!!! Looking forward to 2011 riding season and using these. The OEM grips are showing some signs wear, so these are a great addition. Easy install.
I have a 2010 goldwing. I installed the fork tower lights per instructions. I now have a crack in my fender both sides at the bottom mount fastner area. I spoke to Kuryakyn Tech he says this is a result from over tightening of screws that attach the accent towers. They are incorrect. This is a design problem the rigid design of the accent lights do not allow the normal flex of the fender and thus a crack will develope. Kuryakyn should replace my fender but would not take any responceablity in the failure. I will replace the fender and throw the lights in the trash and can't wait to see the next Kuryakyn rep.
These are really nice, bought these last year and really make riding more comfortable on long rides. Also like the ground clearance the retain the way they designed the mount.
The benfits of the ride off stand far exceeds any add-on item you may be considering. Buy it first before chrome and other accessories. The GW was so easy to manually lift onto the center stand that the first time I slid the bike backwards about 6 inches using the same effort with the factory stand. I only use reverse with a rider and a trailer. Furthermore, you will appreciate mounting the bike, starting the engine, and riding off in 1st gear. WOW! Honda should make the ride-off-stand standard equipment.
I have not installed the belly pan yet but it looks like it will protect the underside of the motor and other items. And, yes the edges are sharp so I will wear gloves.
Installed the Kuryakyn on my ABS model. Afterwards I learned that ABS models have a different design. The Kuryakyn data specs only said they would not fit an air bag model. In my opinion the data specs should have mentioned the ABS alternative. It appears the Kuryakyn is a universal fit. Four stars for the lack of complete information.
