Added a set of these to 2009 GW and very easy to install. Hardest part was taking the old ends off. They look great compared to the OEM and also work great with the heated grips.
I just received the backrest. It looks very well made and can't wait to try it out. I'm getting my stock seat rebuilt by a local shop and i will let you know how it goes.
Awesome speakers! Easy install with no modifications required to bike. Full, rich sound. WAY better than factory!!! Took me about 30 to 45 minutes taking my time.
Very easy to install product seems pretty well made. My reason for only three stars are the nuts supplied did not fit the bolts and the nuts and bolts were extremely cheap chinese junk. 1st blot broke while tightening. I had to replace the nuts and bolts with a run to the hardware store. Replaced with like chrome 3" 1/4 20 bolts and nylon self locking brass nuts. Worked out OK.
I found that the attachment system is not very good unless you use the ugly screws to hold the spring brackets onto the tupperware. At first I used epoxy to mount the brackets but that eventually let loose over time and rough roads. If you want the bulbs to last the housing needs to be shock mounted with a very liberal amount of silicone around the backside of the housing since you will never remove them once you cut the opening in the fairing anyway. So remove the unnecessary hardware & stupid springs... use the waterproof silicone liberally to hold the unit in place. It doesn't show on the front & the bulbs last for years now.
An excellent kit and the Replacement Bulbs are around $7.oo each through Show Chrome - 12v 18/18 Halogen Bulb. Part # 10-2595
I have used these on both of my bikes for several years, and would not use anything else. The ride is smooth as glass at any speed until you get new tires. The tires last longer since they don't need to re-balance as the tire wears down (like anyone ever does that). Best side effect is there are no ugly weights on the rims. I do buy the big 40 oz. bag directly from the mfg. Wings take 2 oz. in each tire & so does the Rune.
The windshield fits the bike like the stock windshield but is a little harder to adjust. Others have said it flexes quite a bit but I haven't seen that, its no worst then the stock one for sure. The buffeting is much better then the stock shield and somewhat quieter.I look over it by 2-3 inches,I'm 6'0 and my so is 5'0.I will recommend this shield with the understanding its not a cure all.
Installed these on my 2010 Goldwing with heated grips. The install was easy ... about 15 minutes ... just use a little dish washing soap (a couple of drops) on your finger to help get the rubber sleeve into the slots ... they pop right into place! Very comfortable grips ... the stock grips are so tiny!
Absoutely correct everyone! Honda should have included this from the factory! Other than that, very easy to install ... took about 15 minutes ... works like it should. The rubber cover is great for making sure nothing gets inside the socket that shouldn't. The only suggestion I would have is to position the socket so the rubber cover pulls down from the top and lays on the bottom of the side pocket when in use ... it is much easier to remove and put back on this way.
The best driver backrest on the market. I have had four over the years from a Valkyrie through three Goldwings. My most recent Goldwing has the heated seat ... no problem with the installation as long as you follow the instructions staying away from the wiring in the seat.
The Wife absoutely loves these! Taking the stock boards apart and using the spring & ball bearing in the Kuryakyn set is a pain. You have to get just the right angle to slide it all together ... for that, I only give 4 stars. Honda has a patent on the spring & ball bearing assembly in their stock passenger floorboards so they can't be duplicated. Just be patient with it and they will slide together.
