This was an absolute nightmare to install. Started out by drilling the holes with a small bit, drilling from inside out, and proceeded up to the 7/32 which I then drilled into the holes from the outside in. The bolts would not line up with the holes in the handle. I worked with this for over two days and on the last day... over two hours. Finally got it on but again, a nightmare. Called Wingstuff at one point and they advised me to drill out another size up - which I eventually did. I told them I was concerned about wall thickness and they suggested I call the Kury # they gave me... it went unanswered and to a machine - I have yet to hear from them. I did have problems with the 1/4 drill taking out part of the hole side wall on tow of the four holes - but the latch clips and the trunk interior seem to sturdy the situation - but still, I thought at the time, I was going have to scrap the trunk lid and pay $700 for a new one. I consider myself to be pretty handy and I have installed several things where I had to drill the plastic - but this was a seriously butt puckering, sleep losing ordeal. Glad it's on. Yes, I had to buy longer bolts as well. |

Great fit and looks good to boot. Very easy installation; took me about 30 minutes to install as the placement needs to be perfect to avoid from letting the adhesive tape sticking before you have it just right ..... an extra set of hands would be good, or installing with fender off. The rubber portion at the bottom extends down past the lip of the lower cowl, so I am hoping for less cleaning time of the cowl and center cover! The chrome helps tie in the recently installed chrome cowl and center cover ...... another nice piece of wing-bling! |
This Goldwing patch looks great. The gold and black are a nice look together.
I never got the cup.The bride loves it, plenty of room for her to throw her leg over the seat.I have had other passenger cup holders but this by far the best.
The wife got me this as part of a bunch of Christmas stuff. handy little thing.
Added 2 of these to my GL1800 Wing...I love them...they make it so much easier and safer...actually the passenger can see blind spot traffic also. I would recommend these to anyone...cheap investment for a lot of added safety....
I also put over 20,000 miles on my Avon Cobra in 1 year, mostly 1 up riding . Always checking the tire pressures. Great in the curves and excellent at water displacement. I used Avons on my 1500 also with great wear. This i the only tire for me .
Owners!!! Listen to your co-rider as he/she is trying to tell you that the bike is much rougher than before. I've installed many of these with all owners reporting that it's now a pleasure to have my co-rider on the bike's back and not beating their back. With years of experience, Progressive continues to deliver with options for GoldWing owners. Product is simply great.
I rode around a while with just the front two balancers on and there was a noticeable improvement. I have since installed the rear balancer and noticed an even smoother ride all around.
I first observed this windshield at the GWRRA District Rally in Kissimmee, Florida. I was impressed at the time and ended up buying it about a week later. It is a well made product, however, I was more impressed with the instructional video for installation. It was step by step and didn't miss a thing. Thank you for a great product, but also, thank you for the easy install. It took about 1 hour, inspite of the fact that I have no mechanical abilities at all. The windshield is very clear and has been very easy to clean thus far.
I would be quite embarrased to put my QC sticker on this set of speakers, package came in OK and speakers were wrapped up like new, but there was a cracking noise out of one of the speakers, and the other didn't sound real good itself, absolutely no bass out of speakers what-so-ever. I got a new pair of back speakers as well and had no problem with them. Of course, Wing Stuff will take care of the RMA on the items as usual, but they need to start back charging J&M for putting out this type of product. I know the stereo on the bike is fine when the old speakers work just fine when reinsalled. Thanks Winf Stuff.
Nice METAL pieces, not plastic; aside from that, not much else I can add that hasn't already been said. Finishes off the front cowl area especially well when the chrome lower cowl is added. Fit and finish is great.
