This is my second Bushtec hitch. I had one on my 2010 Goldwing and I was very happy with its performance and strength. The 2012 model looks exactly like the 2010 model - the only difference seems to be the chrome tongue length which is longer on the 2012 to reach beyond the new rear fender design. This is a bit of a concern to me as it seems to flex a lot under the trailer weight, especially causing the center removable piece to twist slightly under weight. I think the longer tongue is behaving like a lever which is putting more pressure on the weld of the square tubing and twisting pressure on the mounting frame. A normal, short tongue won't twist but rather will put downward pull on the center piece which is designed to handle such forces. Time will tell if this model is going to be strong enough. Because I have fitted one before, fitting this one was really a breeze - I knew exactly how to install it. I did not time it but I think it took me about 90 min to 2 hours to mount it with the bike on a lift. I also fitted the Bushtec trailer isolator kit at the same time. 3 Stars only, because of the longer tongue and obvious change in forces on the hitch since it wasn't properly redesigned for the 2012 Goldwing. Had I known this when I ordered it (the images on Wingstuff is the same for both 2010 and 2012 models which is misleading) I probably would have considered another hitch, for peace of mind. You don't want to worry all the time if it will hold your precious trailer and cargo. |
| Spoiler very well made it adds a great look and I replaced the light before installing spoiler with Item #:AO451842V Running/Brake/Turn Signal all in one light and installed the American Motorcycle Accessories GL1800 Chrome Billet Luggage Rack Item #:SBAMA2003 after for a total great look. SPOILER INSTALLATION WAS EASY I CUT THE TEMPLATE OUT WITH A RAZOR BLADE FOR A CLEAN CUT. NOTE: THE TRUNK WAS DESIGNED FOR A SPOILER IF YOU LOOK CAREFULLY AT THE UNDERSIDE OF THE TRUNK LID WHERE THE TEMPLATE SHOWS TO DRILL THE HOLES YOU WILL SEE MOLDED INTO THE LID 3 CIRCLES WITH A RAISED POINT IN THE MIDDLE ON THE LEFT SIDE AND 2 ON THE RIGHT. NOTE: I found the recommended drill size for the screws are too big so I used the size that matched the screws size for a tighter better fit. |

| As with many other reviews the chrome plating is coming off. Plating is peeling on the support posts and is bubbling on both sides of the rubber inlay. The rack is 4 years old and has been getting progressively worse in the last year. |
| Last year I replaced the OEM pads with aftermarket pads purchased at Wingstuff. After only about 8000 kms (5000 miles) they had to be replaced. Went back to the OEM for obvious reasons. They may be a little more expensive upfront but you don't have to replace them as often, thereby making it less costly in the long run (literally). |
| I previously owned a 2002 Wing and installed the full set of "Wings." They were great! The 2012 is designed better and I don't feel I need a full set of wings as I had on my 02. But, I have installed the hand wings. My co-rider appreciates them as well. |
| I own a 2012 and it is a great bike. But, I was experiencing numbness in my right hand after only a few miles. These risers have done the job. No more pain and I can enjoy riding again. Definitely worth the price. |

| Bought these just a couple of days before leaving on a trip to the Sierra's in Calif. Temps along hwy 395 in high 90's to 100's. Was pulling a trailer with an ice chest on the front. Dipped the vest and away we went. Really cool to start and last about 90 minutes. Found they will last longer if covered with a light cover like nylon wind breaker. Sure makes the ride a lot more comfortable. Also reduces the fatigue factor associated with the heat. Easy to store when not being used. |
