I bought my '06 1800 with 40K mi on it and was never very happy with the handling . Only thing I had to compare with was CX500 25 years ago, so I thought "just big bike". Put these on a couple weeks ago and have put 500mi on now, and WOW!! Now in fairness, it appears that the previous owner had never changed fork oil or seals, so it would have been interesting to see how much difference just that made, BUT, putting the progressives + All Balls in has made this a completely new bike! An extra 10MPH in curves that feels more confident than the old 10MPH slower, + better general bump handling, slow handling, and confidence in the bike. I had a dealer put them in, so no comment on ease of install, but VERY happy with the result! |
I'm 6'4' with wide 14 feet. First 1800mi trip on the wing it was obvious that the pegs had to go. Put these on with the shifter, did 2700mi in 4 days last year, + another 4K here and there and they are super. Yes, they scrape from time to time, mostly on slow sharp maneuvers, but not enough to be a problem.

just finished installing a cb on my GL1800,i have read the other comments about using an swr meter, and questioned that process. I called the Honda factory tecs, and was told that if the cb unit was a factory cb and a honda factory antenna that all is needed was for you to install it and play it.They called it plug am nd play. The unit works great, iam very pleased with it,and yes it does balance the look of the bike |
A nice father's Day gift that truly adds more appeal to my bike. It takes longer to get the alcohol swab out of the package than it did to install them. A great addition to anyone's bike.
I love my G704/G709R Bridgestone tires. Shops don't tell you to put the DOT on the tire to the balance mark on the wheel. Some shops don't know this. I have a 2007 and the DOT on the tire goes to the valve stem. 09 up goes to the mark on the wheel. No weights on front or rear. No tire problems 15000 miles on front and rear. I always change both tires. these tires were made for the Goldwing. Now I do run 41 front and 42 Rear. Tire wear is much better then 36/41. Check your pressures it pays in more mileage.
Have used two of these bags for several years now and they have held up great. No wear and still look new. Protect the helmets perfect. Good value.
My shop installed these on my 08 Wing along with a new set of Elite 3 tires. That was 4500 miles ago. Today there is cupping on one side of the front tire. Also the front tire bounces and feels very unstable at speeds over 80 mph. The only thing I can attribute this to is the Centramatic balancers. My mechanic agrees and next week they are being removed and replaced with dyna beads. I'm writing this review to help others avoid the costly mistake I made a few years ago.
While the look nice they are very cheaply made and do not fit AT ALL. You have to redrill holes & push & shove & force them. The knobs that you screw into crack. I got them on & I am hoping they stay on. I would not buy them again.
I have had this on my 2002 Wing for 5 years now. There is not a scratch on it! I got the plus 2 size as I like to look through the top of the shield for extra protection. It is a little thicker than stock and much less flexible. Buy sooner than later!!!!
I have now had the largest, SRLFX36L3BS12, model installed for almost a year. This is by FAR the best and likely last battery I will need or have for my GL1800. It has 540 cold cranking amps which is equal to or better than most cars! It is slightly narrower but fits perfectly with a little phone installed on each side that is provided. My bike sat for 4 months with no battery charger and fired up perfectly this spring. It turns over like it is on steriods every time. What more could you ask for except to get it for free!!!! (Remember to install the jumper bar before installation or the battery will NOT work. Batteries must be shipped this way. Read instructions!)
Replaced seals and bushings on a 2007 GL 1800, perfect kit everything except fork oil included for the job.
I've done Iron Butt and RFTW with this seat and it does increase the comfort of a long ride for sure. My only concern is twisties, it gives you a bit of an uneasy feel as you shift left and right a bit while engaging agressive turns. If you cranking and banking you lose firm contact with the bike via the seat. Otherwise, great!
