First let me say that I really like Big Bike Show Chrome accessories however when I installed these today I had to remove the VERY HARD foam that is attached to these lens housings. The rock hard foam does not allow these to be installed easily and can cause you to break the plastic mounts inside of the mirror housings. I did not take any chances and removed the hard foam and then cut the soft foam off the factory lenses and glued to these lenses for a trouble free installation. When I originally tried to mount them with the foam that comes with these lenses the foam is so hard that they do not allow the factory screws to be installed. It may be possible to use the hard foam they come with but I think the screw mount holes would either strip or the mounts would break considering they are plastic. Big thumbs down to Big Bike Parts for using a hard rock foam on these! You may want to consider something else.
I really couldn't tell from the picture on the website how big the patch would be before ordering. I was very pleased once I received it, not to mention my wife was as we'll. I ordered a set for both of us. I love the way it looks, very we'll made..
I ordered this patch not knowing how it would look on my vest. I was truly impressed with the quality, not to mention everyone asking me where I got it from. I love the patch!!
These are great, easy install, and much more comfortable than pegs. I called Kuryakyn 'cause I couldn't find the shift lever bushing in the packaging. As I was talking to him on the phone I was digging around in the box and found this part packaged with the brake pedal. most of these parts are made in China and I think the instructions are written there too. Once I located all the parts, install was easy and I love the extra foot room. the larger brake pedal is pretty nice too and looks great. The deployment hooks are to hook your boot on to push the footboards back down, since the kickstand extender turned out to be a useless piece of junk.
without a doubt this is the sorriest piece of junk I have ever purchased. I own a lot of Kuryakyn products and have a wish list for many more. All have been great and I am happy with all except this thing. The directions say: don't tighten this too tight or it will bend and crack the chrome. Yup! That is true. The alternative is to not tighten it so it flops around drags the ground, scrapes the road etc. I tried to mount it to my stock kickstand on my 2013 Goldwing. It is now laying in a corner of the garage where I threw it. Absolutely useless!!
After 8yrs my fog lamp switch began to act up it would not switch on and off so I had to reorder this one very easy install one screw under trim and unit pop's right out plug and play.
Like everything about this unit, however, I have two units where the LED indicator lights for charging/ maintaining charge have died or failed. Anyone else have a similar experience? I've had hte units < 1 yr, use every day.
bought this about a year ago to replace OEM moldings that had broken tabs. Installing the right side went ok. left side had some fitting problems but after awhile I got it to fit. Had to remove the moldings about a month later and broke off the top tab and one lower side tab. It is now loose after re-installion. Not happy with that. Right broke a side tab when removing for a mech issue. I love the look which still looks nice after a year's use. I think I'll do the double sided tape suggestion I read on this page. 3 stars for the tab problem.
Just another way to bling up the GL1800 and very easy to install. Instant shine to the dingy grey. Don't hesitate get em now!
I got these as a gift for Christmas and when my buddy Dave was in town we installed them. Was a bit difficult to do the throttle side for some reason but the clutch side went on without much effort. Spray some hairspray inside the rubber piece to help it slid on and not slip around. The grips seem to take a little longer to feel the heat, but there is plenty of it. The biggest difference is the comfort and reduction of hand fatigue or cramping. It took a few miles to get used to the wider grip, but I love em and I'm looking forward to my ride to WingDing with them!

The traction is better than the last set of Avon's. Time will tell about mileage wear. Do your self a favor, next time you swap out your tires replace the stick on or pound on wheel weights with equal amounts of B B's. Or just confiscate some from your kids, Daisey air gun BB stash! Only down side is you can hear them rolling around when engine is off and you push or move the bike. The upside is the smooth vibration free ride. Trust me when I say that the difference is unbelievable, and no need to rebalanced the tires! This is the same principle as the mega expensive Centramatic wheel balance system, at a nano fraction of the cost. |
It would've been nice to have a template, but this wasn't difficult to install. It looks good and will add a lot more storage for our trips. I also purchased the bag with the rain cover to go with it. I'm very pleased with this item.
