As with the new style engine guards it took a brain to install. It is made exactly the same as the factory one which is also tricky yo install it really helps to remove front wheel and fender and do the center first re-drilling don`t work because then the other parts won`t lock in correctly above it I tried that. After the center is in about halfway make sure the hoses are not binding then do the right loosely then left then tighten center again check hoses you might have to push around a little then the other screws an it will be correct again I measured an old one and the new one they are the same. |
| Has anybody tried these on a trike. I think the trike ones are little to gaudy or ugly. |

I just put these on my F6B. I can see why someone might think the foam is a problem.....but it's not. Not if you go about the installation in the right manner. RESIST the urge to reuse the OEM lens foam. Not only is it lightweight and fragile....but if you're taking it off of your original lenses which have been already installed....then it's probably nearly worn out anyway. The trick to the supplied foam is not to install the lenses into the housing...but rather to install the housing onto the lenses. First, ground the foam with your fingers and press it down as flat as you can. It is a memory type foam and will slowly spring back. Next...Install the lenses on the mirror frame, aligning the holes for the screws with the holes in the frame. While holding the lens in place on the frame...slowly but firmly work the housing onto the lens. It takes a little while as you have to be slow but firm...but the housing will go into place. Once installed....the memory foam is a FAR better seal against the elements than the cheap Honda foam ever was. It will expand and fill any open crevices between the lens and the housing..sealing it tight. The amber bulbs are not nearly dark enough. But that is about the ONLY bad thing I can say about these so far. Speaking as an engineer, I VERY rarely get to say that a product has been properly designed. This one fits the bill, however. |
| Great speakers....better than stock.Easy install if you understand how the tweeter connections and ignition plug get detached from the front panel.I advise you to go online and pull up some information on how to remove...a couple little tricks will save you some frustration!! |

Bought the right and left side panels and of course a few other chrome goodies. After a few weeks the right panel lost a chip of chrome about the size of a dime. Never had an issue before with anything from Wingstuff. Called to get instructions on return. Mark said no problem that he would send me a new one at no cost. Wow! Great customer service. Thanks Mark. Thanks Wingstuff! |
| I just received this rack system to install on my 05 and I am having to make some modifications to the hitch. The instructions call for on years 06 and later to cut a bit of a tab on the backside of the fender, which I had to do on my 05. No bid deal. But following those instructions, the fender still did not fit back on and was hitting part of the hitch. I had to grind off about 1/4 of steel from the upward part of the bracket by the u-bolts. I see that this hitch is back ordered now and the current picture looks different than what I received. Is this the reason? I don't know. Other than a little modifying, the hitch and 11 X 17 cooler rack that I also bought is made well and is a great design. Time will tell. I just wish it was a "plug and play". |
| Please see my previous review. I contacted Wingstuff and talked to the manager, Rodney, and his primary concern was to make certain I was taken care of. Wingstuff immediately sent me a new voltmeter as well as the new wiring harness. I returned to the dealer who had originally installed the voltmeter and the voltmeter and back light are now working fine. The dealer, Champion Powersports completed the additional installation at no charge. Thanks to all. I would suggest that special comments be made relative to the installation of this unit on 2010 Goldwings. |
| Just installed these. Rode 2K miles to and from Daytona, Beach. Big help with wind management. They work! Was able to manage wind as needed. Installation pretty straight forward. Few small parts to be careful with. Extra screws, washers would be nice. The only thing i'm not to crazy about is the screw ins to the clips on fairing. If your factory clip connectors are worn like mine, then this connection gonna be little loose too. They held on for 2K mikes so I'll replace clips on bike and re-install. I purchased the mirror deflectors too. They are great |

| Looks nice. However they should not have put rubber on the bottom. It is wearing a hole in the toe of my boot. |

We had used the Pakit Rak on our trip from Tampa out to Yellowstone and back in '09, and it was REALLY easy to pack and use. When we got the new Wing last year and planned on going to Glacier, this was a must again. We bought a lock so that the tray is locked onto the hitch--somewhat difficult to get it on, but it is a key lock and is secure. When the case is in the tray, you are unable to fully see the license plate. We had to drill holes into the tray to move the license plate onto the outside edge so that it could be seen---wish they would have done this at their factory, and wired a plug and play for a lighted plate holder. This new bag is made out of nicer material, and held its shape better that the one we bought back in '09. The zippers seem to be of better quality also. The first bag's waterproof cover came off in Salt Lake City---we turned around and got it--the elastic at the edges had broken. We used a bungee net to hold it in place for the rest of the trip. Called Dixon "Y" Machine (Company) and told them what happened. A new one was in the mail for delivery the next week. We are now planning the trip up to Seattle and on to Anchorage, and this Pakit Rak with be what our clothing goes into. Love having this behind us instead of a trailer. |
| I tried these drill holes and all,but my trunk was all ready chaffed and once installed made the trunk lid sit up higher and you could see the chaffing from the side. Now I got to go buy some plugs for the holes. They made the gaps between lid and trunk look terrible. |
