At first, we went cheap----bought the Kuryakyn LED turn signal Mirror Lights and thought that they would work well, and let drivers behind you have another light showing them that you are planning to turn. Once we got out onto the highway, it was very noticeable that you have a constricted amount of space that you can turn the mirrors out into since they took up the space. So----we ended up changing out the mirrors to the Muth mirrors with 7 LED red turn signal lights.
Honda should just place this type of mirror onto the bike in the first place. They are just like having the stock mirrors in place, just that you have the 7 LED red lights present too. Went with the red, since that is how the majority of mirrors on cars/trucks are---and don't want to flip out someone behind you with something new to distract them.

Had bought these in Chrome, because that's all they had at the time, and placed them on the bike for a trip in '15. Just in time for our trip to Alaska this past summer, they came out with the black ones, so I ordered them and replaced the Chrome ones. They all work the same, regardless of the color. Easy to put on. Went with the black, because we have an all Black '14 with very minimal amount of Chrome. It's a "the eyes like it" thing, I guess!
The original review for the Chrome ones in "15.
"Had these on our '08 Airbag that we took to Yellowstone 2 years in a row. It helped having different positions to sit in during those days across the Plains. Now we have a '14, and we are outfitting it with these again. Just ordered them last night, and am leaving for a ride to Seattle in 5 days. Kept thinking that I could get by without them, and should have just ordered them 'cause I know that it will be much more comfortable with them. Just wish that Kuryakyn made them in Black along with the Chrome."

I like lights that will help people see you---and they need to not have a license if they come up behind you and don't notice you. Had the dealership install this when it was picked up, so installation was really easy!

Utopia Driver Backrest for GL1800 2001-2017

(Didn't mean to hit enter twice!)
This works great for the Rider, as we can get maps ready and place them in the pouch along with cell phones (even with charging cords hooked to them from the trunk), gum, pens, Kleenex, etc. For the Driver, it can be adjusted in so many positions that it will help any back on a long trip. We went to Alaska last summer, and I changed out the maps as we entered different States/Provinces. Had to use maps especially in Canada, as the satellite didn't work when you are out in the middle of nowhere !

Adjustable 17"-25" Windshield for GL1800

Threw the dice on this one, putting it on the bike just before taking off for a 12,500 mile trip to Alaska. LOVE IT!!! Able to flip the top down for more air, and flip it up when going through the rain or wind. The top of the upper shield is just right for the eyesight. Definitely will always have this shield on the bike. Sorry to hear the problems that others have had with it.

We had used the Pakit Rak on our trip from Tampa out to Yellowstone and back in '09, and it was REALLY easy to pack and use. When we got the new Wing last year and planned on going to Glacier, this was a must again. We bought a lock so that the tray is locked onto the hitch--somewhat difficult to get it on, but it is a key lock and is secure.
When the case is in the tray, you are unable to fully see the license plate. We had to drill holes into the tray to move the license plate onto the outside edge so that it could be seen---wish they would have done this at their factory, and wired a plug and play for a lighted plate holder.
This new bag is made out of nicer material, and held its shape better that the one we bought back in '09. The zippers seem to be of better quality also. The first bag's waterproof cover came off in Salt Lake City---we turned around and got it--the elastic at the edges had broken. We used a bungee net to hold it in place for the rest of the trip. Called Dixon "Y" Machine (Company) and told them what happened. A new one was in the mail for delivery the next week.
We are now planning the trip up to Seattle and on to Anchorage, and this Pakit Rak with be what our clothing goes into.
Love having this behind us instead of a trailer.

Gloss Black LED Vertical Rear Lights w/Smoke Lens 2nd Gen GL1800, F6B
ITEM CODE: KU3247,   SKU: KU3247

Installed the rear fender tip and the verticals in order to get more lights on the back end. These lights look really nice. We did have problems with the fender tip when we were out in Montana where the one side wouldn't light up. Ended up cleaning out all the connections with it, not once but twice, and it worked. Does anyone else notice that the backend of the bike looks like a face with these lights added on?

ISO-Grips Black for use w/OEM Heated Grips for GL1800
ITEM CODE: KU6383,   SKU: KU6383

We had the chrome ones on the '08, and are trying to stay away from the chrome on this one. It works well in cross country, especially when it starts to rain or hail. The bigger radius is more comfortable than the skinny grips that are on the bike for the long haul.

12V DC GL1800 Fairing Power Socket
ITEM CODE: HO08U55MCA101,   SKU: HO08U55MCA101

We had this installed, along with a USB, into the fairing pocket so that we have all the bases covered. With everything being USB now, we still have some "old" technology we use that is a plug in.

Trailer Hitch for GL1800 2nd Gen
ITEM CODE: KU7641,   SKU: KU7641

Had this on the '08, and now have it on the '14. We use it to put a Pakit Rak into the receiver, and travel with just that. We had the dealership put it on before we took the bike home this time, since we installed it the last time, and it took about 2-3 hours.
