I own a 2018 Yamaha Star Venture Transcontinental that comes with this Bridgestone tire combination from the factory. I currently have 18,308 miles on the motorcycle. I replaced the factory rear tire at 3,291 miles because of a screw in the rear tire. I have 15,017 miles on the replacement rear tire. I had a problem of every time I went to the dealer they would find a screw or nail in the rear tire. The second tire only had 700 miles on it when it was at the dealer. To make a long story short I am sure the screws and nails were being punched into the rear tire by the service personnel in the shop as I have no issues with screws or nails in the rear tire unless it goes to that dealer. On to the tires, I plugged the second tire and it has not leaked at all, I know some will say my motorcycle is going to explode riding down the road because I plugged the tire but it has been fine. These tires handle very well, I have not had any issues with handling in the dry or the wet. Wear is very good, the front tire has a full 18,308 miles on it and the rear tire has 15,017 miles on it and still have 4/32's tread on the rear tire. I have confidence these tires can go 20,000 miles before you would have to replace the rear tire. The Yamaha Star Venture Transcontinental is a heavy motorcycle that weighs 963 pounds so that says a lot about how durable and good these tires are. Performance wise the Yamaha Star Venture 1854cc V-Twin out preforms my 1989 GL1500 Goldwing, 2013 Victory Cross Country Tour and 2016 Harley Davidson Ultra Limited. Ride comfort is very good with these Bridgestone tires as well, overall I don't think you can find a better tire for these big touring motorcycles. If not for having the rear tire plugged I would run the rear tire farther. I highly recommend these Bridgestone G852/G853 tires. |
| This extender was installed on my bike by the previous owner. Since I've taken possession of the bike, I've noticed it is very loose as mentioned in other reviews. Further, I have literally CUT my ankle several times due to how sharp the edge is from having been scraped. I will be finding a different solution. This is a flawed design and completely unacceptable. |
| Put these on along with some Elite 4 tires. I've only been getting about 8000 miles out of a set of tires, Bridgestone, Elite 3. It will be interesting to see what I get out of the Elite 4 with the balancers. |
| Not a lot to say other than it's all good. |

Bought and installed July of 2018. I think they are an excellent addition to my 1800. But, the left one shorted out a few weeks back (3rd week January 2019) and went totally dark. So after a little trouble shooting and finding no broken wires I concluded it shorted out internally. So I clipped the wire for the running light portion of it and now it only functions as a turn signal. I also modified the right one as balance. It could just be a fluke? I do want the running light feature back and do really like these lights. So I will eventually buy another set and give them another chance. When I do I will update this post. |

I very rarely give 5 star reviews for anything, but these shields are great. Had on on my '03 also. They really do shed rain, and they really do hold up their clarity over the years. I'm not in any way associated with F4. |

First off, my instructions were wrong as far as OEM L turn signal wire ID. They have been subsequently corrected, so if you've had one for awhile and are just now installing it, be sure to download the current instructions, don't use the ones in the box. Secondly, the blinking function is barely noticeable although the running lights are fine. I asked them about this, and they said they recommend the use of their aux fuse block, as that will pull power from the battery instead of the Canbus. Well OK, however that's another over $100. The units should have been designed without the need for this. And I don't need an aux fuse block. The only accessory I have that doesn't wire directly to the bike's harness, is a radar detector, and that's easily run to the accessory screw on the OEM fuse block. Thirdly, the spade connectors that they provide, do not make very solid connections. I'd highly recommend positaps for the very thing gauge OEM running and turn signal wires. |
| I have bought many 100's of dollars of Kuryakyn products and the chrome plating on every single one has been horrible. The chrome plating has lasted barely a year on a travel rack, cruise pegs and drink holders. The chrome plating deficiency is at least consistent across their product line, I guess. I have spent many 100's of dollars on their products and have initially been delighted in the modern design and fitment, but have ALWAYS, with every product, been disappointed with the chrome deteriorating prematurely. Know, before you buy, that the products are well engineered and fitment is impeccable but that you are buying a very short lived product as far as real world functionality. Most other after market companies seem to have "gotten the memo" and listened to their customer base. Kuryakyn without a doubt, has totally disregarded their customers call for an equally well engineered product with better quality chrome plating. They have been producing the same "junk" chrome plating for years now. |
| Just put them on. Took literally 30 minutes total. And thats including cleaning the inside of a dirty fender for the 3m tape. They look good. Hoping it eliminates some of the dirt and dust that comes up from the back tire. Looks like they belong, not some after thought. I recommend them. |
| It took me about 30 minutes from start to finish. They are big enough for a passenger but they don't get in the way when getting on or off. I would recommend and one of the most reasonable prices ones out too. |
| Not the easiest install but hang in there and be patient. The rubber is pretty pliable and can be a little hard to get the front side chrome piece to engage the inside piece. I used a flat tip screw driver to get the rubber to protrude through the openings in the chrome piece. I also used zip ties between the protruding rubber to help the two chrome pieces to engage. |
| Install is straight forward, easy adjustment and wow these lights are bright, very pleased with increased visibility. Having no factory on off switch was for me an easy tradeoff for not having to disassemble all the body work. |
