Progressive Heavy Duty Fork Springs for GL1500
ITEM CODE: TR771522,   SKU: TR771522

02.16.2009
Spent the first of the month installing these progressive and rear progressive as well. While I was at it, replaced the rear rotar, front and back brake pads. My '88' 1500 is a totally different bike. Handling is awesome. Not too stiff and handles the corners well. I could tell the front stock shocks were in need of attention, but wow, didn't realize just how bad until now.
I'm sure mamma will give our bike the thumbs up!!

Added front progressive and rear progressive to my '88' 1500. Wow, like having a new bike. Didn't know how bad my shocks were until these were added. Now I have to take mamma for a ride and she how she rates the new shocks.

I bought a set of these a couple weeks ago. They look great, but, they do not have the right angle to rest your heel properly. They need to be angled back instead of almost 90 degrees to the bike. I have a pair on my VTX and they work great on it.

These were easier than I thought to install. I put off installation for about 2 weeks dreading having to drill into the fairing moldings. Decided I'd give it a try today. It went very smoothly. Took my time and it took approximately 45 minutes. Instructions included were great and I had no problems with the installation. I got the dark smoke color and they look great on my dark red GL 1800.

Factory OEM LED Lighted Trunk Spoiler for GL1800 1st Gen
ITEM CODE: PG00029

One more thing to add. I really don't recommend using this as a running light. While I *AM* a proponent of "more lights are better", this is one light that is universally understood to be a braking indicator. Turning it into a running light may confuse drivers behind you and they may not realize the difference in brightness when you ARE braking. I have a friend who converted this to a running light and I am absolutely UNIMPRESSED at the difference in illumination between running and braking. My advice is to get the Nisen HD100 brake modulator and wire it solely to the LED bar.

Just my $0.02 worth.

Perfect color match for an '07 orange. Installation couldn't have been simpler. I had no issues with the template, mine was correct. However, just to be sure, I recommend throwing the template away and using the small raised markers on the underside of the trunk lid. To avoid scratching, put some masking tape on the painted side of the trunk lid before drilling holes.

*** This is the most important recommendation*** Drill the smallest pilot hole you can!!!!!!!!!!!! This will prevent "bit drifting" and ruining your lid. Use a minimum of 3 sizes of drill bits until you reach the proper size hole.

Other than that. Don't be afraid to drill into your tupperware, it's not that scary and the results are sporty and functional.

the windshield looks great and works as they said it would, no wind around my head and my wife ssid it was much better for her also. By far the best shield i have ever rode behind. Have not had it long enough to see if it is going to scratch easy or not, seems to be tough.

This is by FAR the best looking accessory for your radiator exhaust. It gives it enough chrome to look awesome without taking over. I get more comments about these covers than I do on any other piece of chrome on the bike. They are very durable feeling and installation, though lengthy due to the curing time of the silicon, was a snap. There is NO QUESTION in my mind that using the silicon was a FAR better solution than using double sided tape. I had no problems and did not use sandpaper. Just make sure you check the quality of the finish on the inside before you attempt this and once you have it positioned and the zip ties snug, hold the piece in the position you desire and really tighten those zip ties up. I was suprised... it stayed exactly in the position desired. The reason I say this, is because you will find that the front does not fit flush against the fairing if you sit the back end flush against the cover. You have to kind of balance the gaps between the front and back for a professional looking installation. Instructions were very clear (horray Kuryakyn for getting one right), and the overnight cure was flawless. I recommend adhereing to their instruciton to let the silicon cure before attempting to ride, even with the zipties on, as riding WILL move the covers due to the large amount of air moving behind the "gills".

Super A+++, best looking chrome piece on the bike. Just doesn't look as good with any other cover.

OH!!! and BE CAREFUL!!! These things have some sharp points (not on the edges, but where the gills meet the backbone) that will poke you good when you are cleaning them! I have drawn blood cleaning them a couple of times, and blood isn't the best chrome polish!
