Perch Mount Black
ITEM CODE: CI58119,   SKU: CI58119

Beautiful items, simple but work amazingly well. I had the the older large cup and holder and this is far and away a better design. Get a perch for both sides and a smart phone holder!

ROKKER Fairing Speakers Upgrade
ITEM CODE: JMFSPU-GL06-XT,   SKU: JMFSPU-GL06-XT

If you don't care about real fidelity, yeah these are marginally "louder" than the stock OEMs. However, it comes at a price...a beaming upper midrange off that chrome dust cap that will part your hair at any raised volume. Any decent treble over 5k is buried in a sea of midrange. I had these in the fairing and the matching smaller model in the rear of my 2010 and both have the same problem. No tone adjustments could compensate. I finally traded these out for the 6.5 Polk DB652s in the front and the 4.5" show chrome coaxial in the rear. Night and day diff. Also, stuff the cavities behind all the speakers with polyfill pillow stuffing. Smoother sound and about 1/2 octave deeper bass.

Bridgestone Tire COMBO for GL1800 G704/G709
ITEM CODE: WSBRCOMBO,   SKU: WSBRCOMBO

Since installing these back in May, I now have 14k miles on them. No cupping, still a beautiful smooth ride. There is an ever so slight flat spot about 2" wide evenly distrubuted around the center track of both tires...exactly what I would expect. Tons of tread left, no weird wear or "graininess" showing between treads. Again, I believe the centramatic balancers are probably assisting with this, but there aren't enough kudos to throw at these tires for hanging in there tough. At this point, I'm planning to swap to a new pair in the Spring...just because really. At this rate, 30 - 35k doesn't seem unreasonable...usually unheard of for MC tires.

Bridgestone Tire COMBO for GL1800 G704/G709

I've got 3500 miles on these after replacing the orignal Dunlops at 14k. The 'stones have no visable wear whatsoever. They do have an advantage in life because I also had the Centramatic balancers installed at the same time. Still, very quiet, great grip on the road. Best tire deal out there, you will not go wrong with these.

ITEM: BB52797

06.10.2012
Twas a rainy day today so I took the opportunity to install this backrest on the Hot Rod. The video saved soooo much time knocking out the critical parts of the install process...The written instructions are clear enough, just nice to see it done before you dig in yourself.

At first I thought I would need the back adjusted all the way up for my 6' frame, but after experimenting with it some, I found that the all the way down position fits the small of my back best. That's good too because it made it a little easier to mount and dismount the bike...I know I know, it folds down.

In between rain showers, I ran out for an ice cream. Should have gotten this backrest sooner...I love it.

Centramatic Stainless Wheel Balancers for GL1800
ITEM CODE: CTMGW100-102,   SKU: CTMGW100-102

05.31.2012
Had these installed a few days ago along with some new 'Stones front and rear. Oh my goodness, what an experience. The ride feels like I'm carving the road with the precision of a scalpel. Just amazing control and almost erie balance through turns. I have to think the dual "gyroscopic effect" if you will, of each unit on both sides of the front wheel assists with this. As you turn, the inside balancer will be compensating somewhat differently than the outside balancer. I don't know all the physics here, but that's how I played it out in my head.

I added a fork brace to the hot rod and few months ago and it made a nice splash in ride stability overall. Now adding these balancers have pushed that to a whole new level. The feeling is almost magical...even makes me a little giddy when I feel it. Even road bumps seem damped more than before. In my opinion, these things and a fork brace are must-haves. Everything else seems almost superficial by comparision.

K&N High Flow Lifetime Air Filter for GL1800, F6B
ITEM CODE: KNHA1801,   SKU: KNHA1801

05.27.2012
Replaced my original OEM filter yesterday with the K&N, rode today for about 200 miles. A noticable engine performance boost. I have the Torqloopz exhaust mod installed and this filter made the exhaust and engine in general growl a little more and very nicely indeed.

Having said that....what the @#*^%@&@ was Honda thinking burying that air filter so deep. Jiminey Christmas, the intake engineers must have been on LSD the day they whipped out that design....that or marketing decided it would be a built-in paid dealer visit to get the job done by the majority of owners.

Anyway, here's a very good Youtube by Steve Saunders that demonstrates how to pull off this job.

Even with this, it took me 5 hrs to complete, being my first time in that deep. I imagine the next time I should be able to cut that in half. I will admit, I did learn a lot about my bike in the process...and, I installed some LED lighting while I had access "under the hood"...;-)

Gen 2 Chrome Fork Brace for GL1800
ITEM CODE: KU7339,   SKU: KU7339

03.23.2012
OK, the power of suggestion is really strong with this one. I've found the wing from the factory to be an exceptionally stable bike especially for it's size. However, after installing this brace, cornering was tighter, ride was smoother, heck even the engine purr was tighter...dunno, the bike just felt extremely well connected with this thing in place.

The chrome job is thick and top notch. The fit is great, just like it was born there.

Trunk Key Hole Trim Accent for GL1800
ITEM CODE: KU3219,   SKU: KU3219

When I first pulled it out of the package I thought it was going to be too plain. However, it looks awesome on the trunk, like it's supposed to be there from the factory...beautiful shiny lines!!
