Hi Rick! I met you last May at the Lookout Road House while on a tour with Fred Rau. The Ortega Highway is always a favorite part of my rides in CA & this video brings back such great memories as well as the desire to do it again! Hope to see you there someday soon.

You got it right Rick. I have been riding the Ortega Highway since I first got to CA in '82. As a matter of fact break-in for my new trike in 2000 was leave O'side go up the 5 get on the Ortega go across and come back down to O'side via the 15. This was my break-in ride for 5 straight days, then the first maintenance on the trike. And am still riding that trike.

Nice job, Since my move to Monterey bay I have found some great roads. But I miss the runs on Ortega. If you make it up here I'll have to take you out Carmel valley road & the hot spots in Santa Cruz.
@ Donald, Check "Ricks reviews" about them Tennis Shoes.... They are safe shoes to ride in.

I agree with the SHOES. You should have edited that out.

All you California people need to come up to the Pacific Northwest. Loops around Mt Hood, Mt Rainier and Rattlesnake Canyon in eastern OR ( https://goo.gl/maps/9Egfm ) are incredible.

As a flat-lander from central Illinois it great to see that ride again. Ray Davis took me up there when I was there for Streetmasters and it's a great memory. Had to take it again when I was headed back home.
