This is a very nice product made of good quality. Be careful with install. Tighten screws too tightly and trunk WILL crack. About $700 for new trunk and install.

This an update to my original post. To make a long story short I now have to purchase a new trunk lid for my 06 1800. Installation of the handle went fairly flawlessly. One of the screw holes on the handle was drilled crooked and had some bad threads. I corrected this issue with a drill, tap and a heli coil (not a problem). After fixing the bad threads the handle went on without issue. I tigntened down the screws, snug but not super tight. The next morning I head out for a ride and when looking over the bike I discovered several cracks in the finish of the paint around the new handle contact points. I immediately took the truk apart and removed the handle. Upon closer inspection I discovered that the trunk plastic was cracked in several locations. Again I must stress that I did not force any part of the installation and I definitely did not over tighten the handle screws. So, any of you who have installed this handle, I would strongly suggest inspecting your trunk lid around the handle contact points. This is one expensive lesson and I will not be installing a trunk handle on the new trunk lid.

Just finished installing this handle and I must admit it does look good on my 2006 Titanium GL. Installation was pretty straight forward and definitely make sure you use the supplied template. I did have an issue with one of the holes on the handle not being drilled straight so I had to do a slight mod. Installation took me about 45 minutes. Heed Eds advise and place a towell across the Oh! Crap holes so you don't loose you trunk liner screws. I used a towell and it saved me at least twice

The trunk handle looks great! Now about the "easy" installation...whatever you do FOLLOW Ed's suggestions (see his review below). If I hadn't blocked the "ut oh" areas I would still be looking for screws. The only difficulty I ran into was getting all of the wires behind the inner trunk liner adjusted properly so that the mounting screws (for the inner trunk liner) lined up properly. The handle is worth the price and really improves the use of the trunk.
