Seems to offer better protection from the wind than the stock model. I am 6'2", and the wind doesn't hit the top of my head as bad, and my wife seem to see less wind bouncing her head too.

The Good: Seems to be thicker than stock thus seems to flex less in the wind. Easy install. *Possibly* better wind protection...tough to verify.
The Bad: Good grief this thing scratches easy!! Personally, a deal breaker for sure. At 5' 10", I can't quite see over the top of it. If it was stock height with the extra width, it would be better.
Next time, I will be trying something different, or will go back to the genuine Honda piece which was quite durable.

Installed first windshield and found out the hard way that only OEM windshields can be lowered and raised. Factory instructions did not contain any warnings on this issue. They replaced the windshield at no cost. The windshield does help with passenger wind blast according to my wife. Not very scratch resistant -- the plastic is too soft -- even with cleaning precautions the screen scrathes easily.

Perfect!! I am 6' tall and wanted a shield that I could raise to block wind for my wife, when she rides, and then to lower to allow me to look over the top of the shield, when by myself. At the lowest setting, I can just see over the top. The shield deosn't bend and bow like the Tulsa styles, that I had and were just awful on the interstates with gusts. The shield is wider, but really looks like stock when it's down. Smooth airflow, and quiet. No regrets at all on this purchase.

Excellent product. However there is a upgrade kit for all GL1800 goldwings. This will alleviate the problem of losing the cam. The part number is 64542-MCA-010 and can be ordered from a honda dealer. The cost here in MD was $10.16 and arrives in 3-4 days.
The problem was corrected on 2008 models starting with Vin #701301. Source of this info is The Wrench which is publication sent to Technicians at Honda Dealers.
