I am unimpressed. Didn't like drilling the windshield... don't like the reflections I get off of the hinges... protection is okay, but not exemplary. I'll use them for a little while, because I hate admitting I blew the bucks... but will be replacing the windshield with a Tulsa or comparable product.

Had for 2 weeks before installing. the thought of drilling holes in my windshield was frighting. I finally taped the windshield and drilled. Best chioce I made. Wind sheer is better, quieter ride and less wind on wife. She like's that part. Vision is not blocked. Instructions are ok. I put masking tape on both side or windshield before drilling and drilled slow not to burn shield and hole to fill back up. Worked like a champ. Be very careefull to holes exact, I had to waddle out 1 hole and put screw in at slight angle, but you cant tell and it's working great. Just took 2500 miles road trip in 4 days and no problems.

Instalation pretty easy. The bolts suppied were a bit too short, couldn't use washers. After about ten miles the glue holding one wing to the hinge let go and I lost the wing. The manufacturer said they are going to send me another wing. I then drilled holes in the glued hinges and also installed bolts through the glued side of the hinge, will also do the same when the new wing gets here. Had to go to the hardware store to buy longer bolts and nylon locknuts.

Was looking for a little extra side wind relief for my passenger, so I put these on. I was afraid of drilling the stock shield too, but it's really simple to do. Called the manufacturer to get the straight skinny on which one goes on which side, and was told to have the hinges facing forward, so that the winglets are stopped from being pushed by the wind too far back by butting up to the edge of the shield. With that understood, which one goes where is obvious. They also didn't recommend the optional 3/8" standoff position option in the instructions, but said to mount tight to the shield. I did all that, and they work great really. You are aware of wind movement in the shield suddenly, since there's now more surface out there at the edges, but that's nothing. They install quickly and are quite useful. Side wind loads are pushed out, and there's more of a bubble in the cockpit. I didn't mind drilling the stock shield since I figure to replace this one at some point anyway, either with a stock tall or an aftermarket model when this one inevitably gets scratched up. Four stars, only because the winglets don't quite match the side curvature swayles of the OEM shield. But that's a minor point. I was sure I'd be returning them, but I like these things. I have a wider shield like I wanted for a LOT less, and they work! YMMV.

I installed these after installing other wind deflectors on the lower areas of my bike. I was lucky enough to have been able to compare these with the Hondaline wings before buying. The quality is as good as the Hondaline wings but there is a major difference in the way that they are mounted, which turned me off at first. They require mounting by drilling four holes though your windscreen. I maintained that opinion until a friend of mine lost his right-hand (Hondaline) wing and later his windscreen as a result of a rock strike from an 18 wheeler. When he replaced his windscreen he also purchased a set of these wings. He asked me to install them so I was able to practice on his bike and work out any bugs before I put them on mine (always nice to have friends in need). My point here is that you really need to make sure of the hole locations before drilling! NO second chance! The instructions are somewhat vague as to which side (RIGHT-LEFT) they are suppose to be installed on. I installed both with the hinges on the inside of the screen. They work better than I had thought they would. Now that they are on I wouldn’t take them off. They are clear and match the windscreen quite nicely. One point: windscreens are at best temporary and over time and mileage they will need to be replaced. I believe that the more mass area a windscreen has the faster it will breakdown at the lower mounting portion, eventually cracking from wind induced stress resulting in frailer of the screen. These will increase that “mass area”! (ever try to eat a windscreen at 70 mph? I have, can’t say I like it much). So keep an eye on the lower section of your windscreen whether you install these or not.
