One of the stock low beam headlight bulbs on my 2005 GL1800 quit working after 3 years. I removed the light bulb and was pleased to see that it is a standard 12 volt 55 watt Halogen H7 bulb. My stock bulbs were made by Philips (Germany), and I replaced both of them with this Candlepower (Korea) H7 bulb. The bulb replacement wasn't too difficult. As Gordon mentioned above, I did need to remove the black plastic base from the stock bulb and insert the new bulb into the base before putting it back in the fairing. If you want to do this yourself, make certain to avoid touching the glass part of the new bulb with your bare hands. Oil from the skin shortens the life of the bulb. There is a warning about this on the inside flap of the package. It helps to wear latex gloves just in case. I reconnected everything and the new bulbs seem to work fine.

This is not a replacement for GL1800 Headlight Bulb. It isn't even close.
