I love the product and my back is tremendously grateful. As for those that have stated the directions really suck, they've made a rank understatement. The directions are not worth the paper they're printed on. Maybe a required tool list would be a neat idea too.
If you have any mechanical ability and some patience to spare, you can install these yourself. As for the tool list: philips screwdriver, 14mm socket/ratchet, hex head(allen) sockets are a MUST. T-handles don't torque well and there's no room for standard allen wrenches.
Good luck. Hope this helps some future installer. The comfort achieved is well worth it.

1. Parts list states two lengths of M10x1.50mm fasteners. Not true. How do I know? I had to run a tap through the blocks to clean up the threads so the bolts would even start in the holes. They're M10x1.25mm - do yourself a favor and make sure you have a tap and use it prior to installation.
2. The short bolts are TOO short, the rear bolt goes maybe three threads. I used longer replacements for the two rear positions.
3. While it works, it was a major PITA for what it is, even with the VIP discount Kuryakyn's price is too high for something that requires the buyer to go to this much trouble just to make it work.
4. This is not my first bad experience with Kuryakyn products, but is indeed my last. I was hesitant to buy it in the first place. Kuryakyn's corporate slogan must be "Quality Control - Myth or Legend?"

Installation instructions a little vague so that why 4 stars. Otherwise, comfort is priceless and this product lets you put the bars where they should be to relieve stress. This makes the high cost of the product worth it. If you use the 2" up 1" back and 1" in configuration you will most likely not be able to put the back side upper handlebar covers back on as you must provide relief to the hoses and cables to allow the rearward placement. I left mine off and used cable ties to hold the wires and hoses in place. This is not the best but a small tradeoff for the comfort achieved. Overall, the product provides what a lot of people need and I am glad to have it for the comfort and relief it provides.

A must for those of us with shorter a reach. I only wish I would have purchased this product before my 3000 mile trip. After about Day 4 my neck & back were killing me. After a buddy helped me installed these I no longer get the pain in my neck or between my shoulder blades.
