GL1800 Hondaline 01-05 Only! Heated Grips

added these to my wng within the first year of ownership (bought new 2002 in Oct 2002) - worked great for one season - then stopped working - understand it is the control unit and you have to buy another compete set to fix - not worth it - very expensive and unreliable - will replace with the staff pick recommended from wingstuff for hundreds less - would not buy these again!

The kit is very complete, nothing more needed to install, but too much expense for it, in view of the reliability problems on the variable heat controller. I had a unit fail, and there have been reports of this by others that it can quit working, though the grips still have the correct resistance in Ohms. Nice looking control panel mount by Honda, but they should have mounted it on the left side, not the lower right. You don't want to take your right hand off the throttle and front brake to adjust the heat.

Worked great for one riding season then the switch broke. Honda doesn't sell a switch so you have to buy the ENTIRE unit again! Come on Honda where is that quality and reasonable price. I'll probably buy another set but if it breaks again Honda has lost me as an accessory customer for life. Just too pricy for the quality, or lack there of.

Nice thing to have on your bike if you ride in cool weather..Keep your hands warm and the rest will follow.. A bit pricey but switch installs on the right side of the bike under the key for the locking cover so look nice..
