Even better than the E3
I bought these tires about 5 weeks ago, and have almost 6,000 miles on them. Ran them in temperatures from 28°f to 103°f.Went thru 9 western states, elevations from 2500' to 10,956'(Bear tooth pass). The tires are still very round and no cupping like i experienced with my E3. Im not sure what they did so different, but its day and night on groved concrete. With the E4 I almost don't even know that I'm on it. Don't get that riding on ice feeling i got with the E3. Don't get me wrong I was mad when they stopped making the E3,but the E4 in my opinion are way better. I run them on a 2005 GL1800. My rides are usually 500-1100 miles in a day. This set has about 7-8 hours in the ran and not one slip. I can't speak for other touring bikes but as far as the GL1800, can't go wrong with these tires. I'll try and update my total mileage when i wear them out. |

Dunlap Elite 4 tires
I am on my second E4 rear and first E4 front. I commute on a 2013 GL1800 Audio Comfort at 500 miles a week, apox 80 mph. I have no complaints. The only thing is you have to maintain the correct tire pressure. 2 lbs off and you get a different scary ride in the corners. This will be my second combo set as I am replacing both tires this time. Mine are wearing out 2 rear to 1 front. |

Elite 4 front tire danger !
I have E4 on both front/rear positions on my '05 Gl1800. About 5k on them and the rear is wearing and preforming fine. However the front E4 in certain conditions is scary ! Rubber snakes and grooved pavement cause an uncomfortable feeling. The big problem is on open grated metal sections of bridges----the handlebar wobble is awful. No, I would not put an E4 on the front of my GoldWing again. In fact I feel Dunlop should replace my front tire because of the safety factor. |

Fantastic tires!
I honestly don't know why other reviewers give these tires 3-4 stars. To me they are an upgrade from my Elite 3s and I love the handling and road hugging that I get from them. I have yet to ride them in the rain but that day will come no doubt. Great tires! |

1 Star Upgrade
See my earlier review "Hang Onto Your Bars" for background. I now have the E4 on both front and back. There is still the tracking issue when you get on grooved cement. However, once I have adjusted to the eerie feel it is not quite as disconcerting. Only 4 stars because of this issue. The upgrade from 3 stars is because the wear on these tires seems to be even better than the E3. I believe I will be getting much longer mileage out of these tires. |

Elite 4
I recently purchased a set of the elite 4 for 2007 gl1800. I have only about 500 miles on them but they seem to handle the curves well. I do here some road noise from the rear. Hopefully they hold up like most everyone says. |

So far so good
Have about 5000 miles on the E4's. So far the only issue I've noticed is wet weather grip on the rear. When riding on Texas state hwy. near Kilgore rear slid a little in long fast sweeping section of road. It was at night had been raining for a while. Not sure if it was oily spot or a gust of wind that hit me at the same time, but whatever it was enough that I'm more cautious in the rain with them. Never had this issue with the E3's these replaced. Judging by tread depth will likely see somewhere between 15 and 20000 miles on them. The E3's got about 15000 when replaced and I ran the Bridgestones about 7500 miles when replaced. |

a great tire !
I just replaced my Elite 3 tires at 23,563 miles. This outstanding mileage was achieved by running 42-43 PSI in both tires and having Centramatics. The tires ran very smoothly and never cupped. I hope that the Elite 4's will give me similar results. My previous 2 sets of (other brand) tires were good tires overall but had to be replaced at 15-16K(even with the Centramatics). The extra cost of the Elites is more than made up by the extra mileage. |

Dunlap E4 Review
I put a set of E4's on my 2015 F6B just before a 6800 mile trip from Georgia to Deadwood SD and Cody Wy. The tires performed very well and handled the twisties as well as any tire I have ever had. As far as longevity is concerned, I now have 11600 miles on both tires and the front tire is fine but the rear is very near the wear bars and is not wearing evenly all the way around. At this point it breaks loose in a hard acceleration in a turn way sooner than it should. The E4's are good tires but I can't say that they are high mileage tires. The only tires I have ever gotten more than 12K miles on were the car tires I used to run on my full Goldwing's. If your looking for a high mileage tire these are not the ones. |

Elite 4 tires on my 2012 GL1800
I have been and still am a Bridgestone fan, but I decided to try the E4's. Ordered the combo set and had them installed, along with Centra-Matic balancers, before we started on a series of trips we had planned: Orlando to New Orleans and Orlando to Key West. After about 3K miles or so now I have no issues with the tires and they maintain air pressure well. I had tried E3's a couple of times previously and always had significant cupping on both tires that made the ride really rough. No such issues with the E4's yet! Lots of wet road riding here in Central Florida with no significant grip issues, except for those rubber lane markers and stop bars they use that get seriously slippery with the slightest bit of precipitation. |

Dunlop Elite 4 Trouble
I put a set of Elite 4's on my 2013 F6B and made it 500 miles on a 2000 mile trip to Deals Gap. On August 10th it was hot with temps in the upper 90's. My rear tire went down at MP 109 on 95 south in NC Had to get towed to the Honda Dealer in Garner NC which was about 40 miles. The dealer service people examined the tire with me and could find no evidence of a puncture. The tire was de-laminated on the inside and in every one of the large curfs of the tread there was an air leak. If these Elite 4"s can not handle the heat because of a structural defect I would like to know that. I spoke to Wingstuff about the situation and they promised to speak to Dunlop for me, so far just crickets. I put an Elite 3 on the rear and am very worried about the Elite 4 still on the front. I can not be the only one with similar tire trouble with this Elite 4. |

TIres
You should always changed both tires same time, putting a E3 with a E4 is like putting a metzeler with a bridgestone, the wobble is a common problem on all bikes, I got mine fixed when I bought my GL in 2011 brand new, I got the stock STEERING STEM BEARINGS changed for Tapered bearing, probably sold here at wingshop, I had the same problem on my GL1800 2001, since I change these bearings, never had anymore wobbling except when tires are really finished, all my E3 I did most over 28,000 to 34,000 km on them , they are excellent tire, just a bit noisy when 3/4 life on tire done. P/N for bearing is 22-1037, but don't know who is the manufacturer. Look here at wingstuff, this link https://wingstuff.com/products/21578-all-balls-steering-bearings-for-gl1800-f6b?from_search=1 |
